Randomly bumped to this place and decided to take a seat .You know it’s good when the menu is only in German .They prepared the food according to season . And was delightfully surprised how tasty the food is .Highly recommend their baked goat cheese salad , their Riesling was recommended by the staff , outdoor ambience is really nice to sit out , just hope they able to find more staff cause they really busy . Weekdays only open after 6pm . Highly recommend this place .

The melon with mint and spicy peanuts was so fresh and light but had a little kick at the end from the spicy peanuts, perfect for a summer evening dinner.

The show stopper was the pork loin. The perfectly cooked and tender loin was accompanied by creamy potatoes, carrots, and rich mushrooms that made this not only savory but a perfect way to end the day. It was rich but not overly rich.

I tried two of the by the glass red wines... The cab and one of the pinos. Both were excellent but I favored the Pinot.

They offered cream brulee but I had no more room. Maybe next time.

Chef Julian is a young humble friendly guy and his food can be described as German with a twist. This has been one of the best if not the best place in Mainz Germany

Found this place yesterday by accident. And it is simply wow: really really good food with really fresh ingredients. The staff is super nice. I’ll be coming back!!!

Great wine list, phenomenal traditional German foods, nice atmosphere, and a mostly local crowd. If you're a tourist, skip the traps and come here!

Excellent place to drink beer and eat local German food. The staff is nice and welcoming, and there is the possibility to stay outside on sunny days.

Wir waren in der Vorweihnachtszeit da und obwohl es voll war das Service super sehr aufmerksam. Das Essen war echt lecker einzig das Wild konnte nicht so überzeugen. Ich hatte das carpaccio vom kalb sowie den Salat beides sehr lecker und sehr zu empfehlen. Humus und Brot sind auch durchaus zu empfehlen.
Oh, das Steak haben wir nicht gegessen aber ich denke bei unserem nächsten Besuch ist das steak fällig. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder.

Sehr gutes, schmackhaftes Essen in wunderbarer, versteckter kleinen Gasse mit einem ansprechenden Angebot auch an vegetarischen bzw. veganen Gerichten. Die Weinauswahl aus der Region ist vielfältig und überzeugt. Der Service ist freundlich, aufmerksam und zuvorkommend. Im Sommer sitzt man lauschig unter bunten Regenschirmen (umbrella sky) .

Moderne Küche, sehr gute Tellersprache, gute Weine... Ein Lokal in bester Lage (100m vom Dom entfernt), was im 21. Jahrhundert angekommen ist. Für die abgelieferte Qualität ein perfektes Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis. Wer gutes Essen zu schätzen weiß, ist hier bestens aufgehoben!

Wir sind spontan zu fünfzehnt im Rotekopf eingefallen, und wurden dort mit offenen Armen sehr herzlich empfangen. Der Service ist erstklassig, der Wein ist süffig, die Vorspeisen zum Niederknieen. Die Atmosphäre ist urgemütlich und herzlich, wir haben uns " sauwohl" gefühlt. Immer wieder sehr gern!!!!!!

Tolles Essen und super Weine. Auf die Empfehlung der Mitarbeiter kann man sich verlassen. Das Ambiente ist sehr gemütlich und, wie in Mainz üblich, laut, lustig und locker.

Sehr gemütliche Weinstube und sehr freundliche Bedienung. Wir haben einen sehr schönen Abend dort verbracht, immer wieder gerne!
