The Little Café

It was my first time in a German Café and I was impressed. They had a lot of types of cakes and pastry and it was delicious! I really liked it. It was a bit expensive though, but the portions were generously sized.

Great place to drink coffee with something sweet, for a good price. We had two big coffees and two very delicious slices of a really good 'Kuchen' for just over 10 euro.

Drinks:
Usually, I do not like to drink coffee BUT - and here's a really big BUT- the coffee at "Das kleine Café" is truly, no exaggeration, the best coffee I have ever tasted ... in my life! A big ~400/450ml pot of dark, full and lovely tasting coffee costs 2,50€ which is definitely a fair price for this quality. There is also a smaller cup size! And plenty of coffee, tea and cocoa related beverages. In summer they sell iced coffee and there are also a few soda and water options available (which I have not tried). If you ask, they give you complementary water to your coffee.

Food - sweet:
The café sells beautiful and elaborate cakes and pies. They all look delicious. So far, I have only tried their "Strachelbeerbaiser" (gooseberry merringue) which is really good! Crispy and creamy, fruity and delicious.

Food - savoury:
They also offer a breakfast buffet (Unfortunately not a Jimmy Buffet :P ... I'm sorry to all comedy-country fans) on Saturdays and Sundays which I did not know before today. I went into their store and asked for a small item on the breakfast menu. They said they could not prepare it due to the previous buffet. They were really kind and offered to prepare me a veggy and mozzarella based breakfast instead including a huge pot of coffee for only a few bucks. It was really delicious and they were amazingly friendly! The food was absolutely fresh!

Service:
The two waitresses I encountered were really kind and helpful! They also did not mind when I spontaneously wanted to switch seats from outside to inside (due to many wasps outside) and are genereally really quick and friendly. You can ask questions regarding the menue and I have the impression that they are really family friendly, too.

Ambience - Inside:
"Das kleine Café" means "the small café" in German. Accordingly, it has a really cozy and small-town-esque ambience. It is really well temperatured: If you visit in winter, it is warm, but not too warm and the soft lights are really inviting. If you visit on a boiling hot summer's day the room is a positive suprise: It is comfortably chill.
The decoration is very down-to-earth and grandmotherly (in a good way!). There are also really cute little fresh flowers on the tables, self-made looking water color paintings on the walls and dark wooden chairs.

Group/Family tipp: there are a few games and drawing utensils on the right window sill :)

Ambience - outside:
You can sit on two sides: one facing the passage to the Ludgerus Dom, the other one facing a churchy yard filled with linden trees. Be careful though, the chairs wobble a lot on the cobble stone :D
The seats are polstered, by the way.

This one's a small manko: There are two steps in order to enter the café, but there are some options available:
- The tables outside are really nice on summer days
- everyone is really helpful and friendly, surely they will help you up the stairs
- also, once inside the toilets offer helpful bars and much space and the basin is an appropriate hight

Kleines, ansprechendes Café im Stadtkern von Billerbeck in historischer Umgebung. Sehr gut schmecken Torten und auch anderes Gebäck.
Der Innenraum bietet Platz allerdings alles etwas beengt. Das Café ist meist gut besucht. Daher steht das Personal etwas unter Druck, ist jedoch weiter freundlich und kundenorientiert.
Ein Besuch lohnt sich.

Es war sehr schön, man hatte eine Schöne Aussicht auf die altgebaute Stadt. Die Kellner und Kellnerinnen waren sehr zuvorkommend, haben schnell und zügig gearbeitet. Sie waren alle sehr Nett , sind schnell gekommen und der Preis war auch gut. Die Atmosphäre war sehr angenehm und für die Bänke gab es extra Sitzkissen. Allgemein war es schön und ist Gastfreundlich

Idyllisch gelegen mit leckerem Kuchen und freundlichem Service

Nettes kleines Café, direkt an der Johannikirche in Billerbeck.
Sehr leckerer Kuchen, (mir persönlich hatte es die Stachelbeer-Baiser-Schnitte angetan, köstlich!) sowie Torten.
Lockerer, guter und schneller Service.
Gute Atmosphäre, auch an den Tischen draußen - mit schönem Blick auf den Kirchplatz.

Das "Kleine Café" ist wirklich klein und man sollte früh kommen oder sich einen Tisch reservieren.
Es gibt eine Riesenauswahl an leckeren selbstgebackenen Torten und Kuchen.
Man merkt den Servicekräften an, dass sie mit Spaß und Freude bei der Sache sind!
Fazit: Hier ist man gerne Gast!

Was für ein klasse Cafe, nicht nur das der Kuchen hervorragend ist, sondern auch das Personal ist noch von alter Schule und total hilsbereit. Selbst wenn man mal nicht im Schuh oder Mantel kommt, wird fachmännisch geholfen...wie früher eben. Danke dafür!

Endlich wieder ein Ort gefunden an dem man ein vernünftiges Frühstück bekommt.

Das Frühstück ist echt reichhaltig. Man bekommt keine fertigen aufback Brötchen.

Personal ist mehr als freundlich und wir haben uns vollkommen wohl gefühlt.

Ehr 10 Sterne als nur die 5 die hier möglich sind......

Der Stachelbeer-Baiser Kuchen ist superlecker und nirgendwo anders so zu bekommen. Draußen bei schönem Wetter ist es zauberhaft.

Immer wieder gerne suche ich das kkeine Café auf und genieße den wunderbaren Stachelbeerbaiser Kuchen. Sorry an alle Mitbewerber, aber da kommt keiner dran

Reichhaltige Kuchenauswahl plus netter Service plus schönes Ambiente rund um den Kirchplatz machen das Café zu einem angenehm erholsamen Anlaufpunkt bei einem Besuch des Ortes Billerbeck. Und dies nicht nur im Sommer!

Hier stimmt es! Ambiente, freundlicher Service, leckerer Kuchen. Negative Beurteilungen kann ich nicht nachvollziehen. Eines unserer Lieblingscafés auf unseren Radtouren durch das Münsterland.

Super leckerer Marmorkuchen und auch das Stück vom Heidelbeerkuchen war sehr gut. Sehr zu empfehlen.
