Cool site in a historic town! The church is definitely worth a stop if you're in the area and interested in the Reformation. Cute shops and restaurants nearby! Would have loved to spend a couple of days!

Visiting this place is definitely a must! Located at the end of the main street of the historical area of Wittenberg, this place is of extreme value not only because at one of his doors Martin Luther nailed his 95 thesis, but also because his grave is inside the temple, at the back, under the organ pipes. The entrance is free. Take your time to admire every single detail of this treasure building in terms of architecture. Highly recommend. Ask for a guided tour, it will broaden your experience! Also, you can go up in the tower for 3 €, where you will have great views of the city.

History was made in this town that changed the world, shaped the German language, brought public education to boy and girls, and set the stage to bring Scriptures into the hands of the masses in their own language. Martin Luther did all of that and more...

The church tower is superb! 3 euros to go up there and 360 degree view of the town. The church itself is also beautiful, there are so many details everywhere.

Absolutely fascinating. Excellent museum to be found attached to the church, with some of the best audio visual demonstrations I have seen, by that I mean they are easy to use and in several different languages and capable of being tailored to suit the user (eg magnified if you don't have your glasses :-) ). The Tower is well worth the climb with magnificent views over the city and surrounding countryside.
Martin Luther's grave is in this church and this is the church he nailed his famous theses to.

Amazing building with great history. It is the site where, according to Philip Melanchthon, the Ninety-five Theses were posted by Martin Luther in 1517.

Beautiful church in a cute little town. This is the church that is supposedly where Martin Luther nailed his 95 Theses on a church door. FYI the original church door was burned down during the Sevens’ Year War, but later the Prussian emperor commissioned building a new door in honor of Martin Luther. Historical information is listed on little stands throughout the town.

Church as well as the castle are neatly refreshed and well organised for visitors (German and English speaking ones). Tower also worth climbing.

The place where Martin Luther's grave located. Perhaps one of the most famous part is the side door of the church and the most important door in the 16 century history, the Ninety-five Theses were nailed by Martin Luther in 1517 right here. The interior is not open on Monday.

The interior of the church is a solemn and quiet place and the top of the tower gives a complete view of the whole town.

Castle Church was where Martin Luther nailed his thesis to during the Protestant Reformation more than 500 years ago. Unfortunately the church was closed on a Monday, so we didn’t get a chance to go inside

The birthplace of protestant reformation. 95 Theses on the power of indulgences were posted here on all saints day, 1517. It just proves that Martin Luther had the balls to go against the corrupt catholic church :) HE is the MAN!

An amazing experience. I went to take a picture of the door but ended up staying for a Sunday morning service. The congregants were very friendly! Worth a train trip from Berlin for sure!

The building is impressive, it can be seen from different sites around the city. The church, more than the museum and the exposition, is definitely worth it. Don't miss it!!

I’m shocked there is only 14 reviews. When I came to this door I got goosebumps. This is the spot where Martin Luther basically started new religion which resulted in hundred of years of religion wars and millions of people losing their lives fighting for it. It’s a very important spot for the history of Europe.

Not only is it a historic church, but it feels historic.

Don’t come on Mondays in the off season though as most other attractions are closed.

That said, Monday is a great time to visit because we had the church all to ourselves. It was nice for it to be that peaceful.
