Wacholderheiden der Osteifel e.V.

Die Wacholderheide ist eine Kulturlandschaft die über Jahrhunderte entstanden ist. Es wurde von 2005 bis 2010 ein ca. 115 Ha der fast insgesamt 1080 Ha umfassende FFH- Gebiete der "Wacholderheiden in der Osteifel" ein EU/LIFE-Projekt das heißt "Schutz und Pflege der Wacholderheide der Osteifel durchgeführt.
Falls man mit dem Zug anreist, kann man mit einem Wacholder Bus ab Mayen mit der Linie 340, direkt zu ihr fahren .
Entweder man liebt die Heide oder nicht. Ist auch ein mageres Bild, doch es hat trotzdem seine Reize, dort eine Wanderung zu unternehmen. Es gibt auch einige Wanderruten und Flyer dafür.
Wenn man möchte, gibt auch geführte Wanderungen von Wacholderwarte, die sich seit Jahren auch ehrenamtlich um die Heide kümmern. Auch Kinder werden Spaß an geführte Wanderungen haben, da sich die Warte auch für Kinder speziell schöne Ideen haben.
