Extraordinary relic of Roman architecture! There are many informational plaques in English explaining various aspects of the amphitheater. Bathrooms at the front are clean and convenient. Very cool to be able to see the underground of the amphitheater. There are events every now and then where apparently there are gladiator fight reenactments. Would love to see that!

Tickets are very cheap, I think we paid around €5 for two people, there was no queue or waiting time when we went in. You can easily spend 1-2h there if you take everything slowly and then sit down for a while to admire your surroundings. There’s also few walk paths around that you can explore. I would highly recommend to those visiting Trier.

Really interesting Roman amphitheatre, it’s a good price to get in and you can easy spend an hour walking round you even get to go under ground and see the entrances of how they got into and around the arena
You can also sit up on the grass and view from the top you could even take some food in and eat while sitting there and take in all the views

So happy that there are so many historical places to visit in just a few minutes walking distance from one another. It was the first time that I visited an amfitheater. It was so huge. You can also go underground or towards the top of the hill via stairs. It doesn’t take more than half an hour to visit. But if you want to enjoy the scenery there are a few benches.

A well preserved Amphitheater, on a great location. A bit of history that makes you wonder how we as humans are not even farther than we are today. Entry is 4€ and it's well worth it. There are plenty of facts with English translation that you can read and learn a bit more on how this place worked.

Great place to visit, have a stroll around, learn about Trier's ancient history. Only 4€ per person, seems fair.

We visited on a Friday in mid-April. Allow 90 minutes or so to have a relaxed walk around and learn about one of the largest, more or less preserved colusseums outside of Rome. There is a guided tour available via your phone (several languages are available). Parking is limited (room for about 20-25) but we had no problem finding a space. There are toilets. It is short walk into town.

The information boards are in German and English. The underground part is excellent.

Several types of tickets are available depending on how long you are staying in Trier and what you want to see.

A must-see when visiting the city of Trier. This theatre offers the visitor a glimpse of what life in the arena may have been like in Roman times. There are live period performances offered during the summer months. Schedule ahead of time. Many schools incorporate visits to this historic site...plan accordingly.

Amazing remains of the Roman Empire. It is worth visiting this place, its underground and watching the fights of modern gladiators :)

Historical place, in spite of hating the Romans for their blood-thirsty pursuits, you cannot help but admire their engineering and architectural skills. Don't miss the cellar or the dungeon!

4 euros. Nicely kept. Not a lot of signage. A nice film at Entrance.

Amazing, well worth the visit 😀 It's unspoilt by tourism, not become a commercial gain! The maintenance has been completed, thoughtfully.
General information, there are facilities there basic and clean

Very cool place. We went on a cold rainy day so there were few visitors. Our 6 year old daughter thought it was fun as well.

This place is worth the visit. It's not expensive and not crowded.
It is in very good condition, and the tour is self-guided with plenty of explanations. It did not take any inordinate amount of time to see everything there.

Great Roman attraction in the city.
Price is perfectly reasonable : 4€ per adults.
Dogs are welcome and seem to also enjoy this green space.

You are given a map with information from the counter. Don’t forget to have a look at the underground area.
Only stairs.

It’s a short walk (5-10 min) from the Kaiser Thermen to the Amphitheater which is situated on the outskirts of Trier. It is, however, well-worth making the effort as it is a sight to behold. When entering through one of the gates, the shear size of the arena will surely make an impression. You won’t need much imagination to create picture how it must have been in the Roman era when crowds gathered to watch the games. The restored cellar underneath the arena floor is the cherry on the cake

Beautiful town, the oldest in Germany. Small city centre so you can see everything within walking distance. A tour bus is a nice option, but in my opinion not necessary.

It’s not the colosseum in Rome, but it some ways you get more of the everyday - in the life of a Roman feel here at this Arena. You can freely walk around without the crowds and imagine what life in the Roman times would have been like. Incredible history.

The amphitheatre is impressive, but the best is definitely visiting underground, where you can see where gladiators, prisoners and animals would wait before going up. The original drainage system put in place by the Romans is still functioning. If you are lucky, you can see gladiators reenacting trainings and battles, as part of experimental archaeology research.
