Pretty Beautiful. Be aware to buy the tickets early enough online. We did it on arrival and paid 22€/adult instead of 10€. The castle itself is in very good shape. You find toilets, snacks and a restaurant. The tours are on a free app. So better bring your headphones to listen to it. If you have a ticket, the shuttle bus is for free.

This place did not disappoint at all! Beautiful and the rooms are set up as they were when being used. One of the best places we visited.

The Christmas market set up was amazing too. It really was so much better than the real markets...we went to Munich markets and it was a nightmare. This place was so lovely and had the Christmas spirit!!! We WILL be back one day!!!

Tip: try not to get the last spot opening. We did and everything was shutting down. We had to rush through everything. If I could change it, I would have come around 4pm (1600). We came at 7pm and it wasn't enough time.

Beautiful place, incredible castle, gorgeous views both up there and from the castle itself to the surrounding area. There can be strong winds at the top and getting up to the castle on foot for young children can be a challenge, but it's well worth the visit. If you book tickets in advance, you will have access to the upper parking lot, which is a smaller walk up to the castle. There is also a shuttle bus.

A show of soap bubbles in the courtyard of the castle, with lighting and music did not leave indifferent neither children nor adults. There was also a night light show on the castle walls.

Very much liked the interiors of the rooms, the wind whistling in the windows, the atmosphere, which is well preserved.

What a beautiful castle definitely worth seeing, tour of the inside was awesome. There is beer garden and food to eat too. My daughter said she really enjoyed it, if you have a chance it's a good idea to visit.

This castle was beautiful. Well organized tour. Went on a weekend, but being winter, it wasn't too busy. I had purchased tickets online for a later time, but they still allowed us entry. There is a shuttle bus from the main parking area. The parking is included in the ticket price. An audio guide is available with the ticket. Make sure to bring headphones. We forgot to bring ours.

After a solo tour of Schloss Lichtenstein, we arrived at Burg Hohenzollern to find that they're in full Christmas Markets season. The place was crowded and lively and quite busy.

You'll park in a lower parking lot adjacent to the gift shop. A shuttle van will bring you almost to the entrance of the castle. From there, it's a bit of a walk. It is barely handicapped accessible though the castle itself is not at all wheelchair friendly and many rooms require transiting a number of stairs.

The current castle was built between 1846 and 1867 in a Gothic Revival style and influenced by the Châteaux of the Loire Valley. The exterior is regal, dominating the hill it resides on. Inside, each room is decorated with period furniture and artifacts that were owned by Prince Louis Ferdinand of Prussia. The vault in the basement contains the Crown of Wilhelm II and a uniform that belonged to King Frederick the Great. No photographs allowed in that room but the rest of the castle, absolutely.

You buy your tickets down below and then there is a bus that can take you up there and it will bring you back. You can walk up there but it's like a half an hour to 45 minute hike up and back. I do let you in at a time stamp on your ticket so it's not overcrowded inside you download an app that walks you through the audio guide of the castle. Kind of interesting because you can go back if you want and listen to something else you can stop it. Quite unique and the castle is very interesting. There is a cafe and the premises where you can have lunch or dinner. There's an ice cream stand

Such an incredible location and restoration. Imagine the discussions and decisions made here by the Kaisers which tore peace and Europe asunder, led to two world wars and the rise of fascism. Plenty of blame and historical wrongs on both sides of question, but clearly had Kaiser Wilhelm II had benevolence and diplomatic instinct, perhaps the wars and Holocaust could have been avoided.
I love Germany and it's peoples. Each country must look to them, who finally arose from their ashes with clear headed humility to redeem themselves for acts of inhumanity, to come to terms with their own ugly pasts. Only through acceptance of our wrongs can we heal and move toward peace and coexistence.

Beautiful castle! Be sure to check out the events calendar before planning
I managed to be in area during a special event which had extra rooms open to the public, otherwise I've been told it was underwhelming by other travelers I've met
I really enjoyed going, there was entertainment on site - staff dressed in period costumes, making "stick bread" over a fire, a bubble master & fire hose throwing
The staff was very friendly and the shuttle bus was really helpful
There are trails in the area that you can walk and the views from the top is very impressive

Now this is a proper castle! Very beautiful, really impressive views. Worth the money! Restaurant on site is a little bit pricey (not a surprise) but food and drinks were alright.

Was good experience visiting the castle . One can reach by taking train to Hechingen railway station and can take a bus to castle parking lot which is approximately 10 mins drive . Frequency of buses from train station are very less and taxi can cost 20-25 euro.

Very pretty place.
Parking is done like 2km before the castle and you take the bus to get up.
When you have arrived and checked in you are free to walk around the castles exterior and to some extent, the interior and the treasury.

Where to start..... The website just doesn't do the place justice. Aside from fantastic views we saw chapels, jewelry and costumes, suits off armour, staterooms of the former Prussian royals, casemates and more. The castle is in good order and while there are parts you can't get to it's clear the place is under constant attention. Good restaurant too with friendly service. Gift shop at the car park and in the castle itself. Bus goes every few minutes from car park to the castle. There also served to be a lift but all very new so maybe not open yet (August 23).

This place is for sure worth a visit and buying tickets online is easy. The guy on the reception desk was able to scan the pdf on the phones screen without issue.

Motorhome parking pretty easy and cost is reasonable at five euro. No problem with larger vehicle sizes; we parked next to another 9m rig. Road up is understandably steep, expect switch backs, but traffic wasn't an issue.

It's one of the most beautiful castles in BW state. It is located on top of the hill where it's an amazing drive and a whole different experience

This was a spectacular trip. We really enjoyed our time at the Castle. A particular interest for the inside rooms and how they were done up. Although the weather was not the best, the castle made up for it with its majestic appearance. It was really a great visit and I would recommend it to anyone.
