La Cabana

(Updated) We went back for breakfast the next day and both got the arepa, which did not disappoint one bit, we loved it and husband loves their flat white and says it’s the best coffee he’s had in the Dominican Republic so far!

Love this place, it is in my opinion one of the best high end restaurants in the DR! We ordered the parrilla mixta (and chose medium rare), expecting it to be only half the meat we got, and the whole thing was damn good, texture and the flavor were both on point; we also got the Choripán, which is now one of my husband’s favorite sandwiches! Worth going back for sure!

We got the breakfast wrap and trilogy toast after a surf lesson. It was so delicious and fresh! And the service was fantastic. The portions were great for us, if you have a very large appetite you can get a smoothie too!

Delicious steak, friendly service. Worth going out of your way to eat here, would definitely recommend coming on Tuesday or Saturday for the Argentinian barbecue!!

Immediately upon entering the eclectic space, we were filled with a sense of ease. The interior was cozy and bright, with three large sliding glass doors that led to a gorgeous deck overlooking the seaside. Local artwork work and cool framed pictures decorated the wood-paneled walls. A jazzy mix of music played in the background as Franco, our server, told us about the brunch menu. It consisted of one option: a toasted breakfast wrap with scrambled eggs, fresh veggies, pesto, and ham; steamed potatoes drizzled in a pesto sauce; and overnight oats that included smashed bananas, chocolate chips, and thinly sliced almonds. We each got a plate along with cappuccinos and mimosas. Oh my – the food was exquisite and tasty! We slowly ate our meals as the restaurant filled up with more patrons. We ordered a second mimosa and listened as the ocean, music, and conversations filled the space. We went back the following evening for the tapas and live music – more delicious food and great ambiance!

Cabana is the crown jewel of an unforgettable Cabarete gastronomic experience. If you were to partake in a single meal in Cabarete, the Sunday brunch at Cabana will ensure you return to the island to replicate the joy, intimacy, and tastebud stimulation induced by this oasis.

Cabana offers a menu sourced with fresh local ingredients, tantalizing flavor combinations, and scrumptious meal pairings. The food is excellent - fresh, tasty, and prepared with love. The menu isn’t large (in fact, they only offer one option for brunch which changes weekly) but what it lacks in options, it makes up for in presentation and craft. The restaurant is locally owned and the chef prepares all of the food in an open kitchen right alongside the indoor diners.

Cabana is further differentiated with its unencumbered view of the Atlantic Ocean on its outdoor deck. Enjoying Cabana’s famous Sunday brunch whilst succumbing to the crashing waves beyond your gaze offers a soothing - almost spiritual - sabbath experience.

Highly recommend Cabana for an unforgettable dining experience in Cabarete at a reasonable price point. After one visit, you’ll quickly realize why Cabana is the go-to spot for locals and one of the most cherished secrets in town.

Wow! What a hidden gem! This place is gorgeous! Amazing views, wonderful healthy food, such as the La Cabana salad. Their food is great and the customer service is amazing. This is one of the places you should NOT miss if you’re visiting Cabarete!

We came to this place by recommendation of “Bocao” we loved it. The owner was our server which I love when the owners are involved in what’s happening in their restaurant. There was only one option for brunch but it was complete. Nothing else needed. That also made the serving time quicker. The view is 👌. Can’t wait to go back and try their lunch options.

Everything I ate here was always very nice. Place to go on Mondays in Cabarete. Nice couple running the restaurant with all their heart. Good luck with the Encuentro location!

We were twice in this place and I can fully recommend it. Everything is super tasty and fresh, portions are big. Nice and helpful staff.

Slightly odd location on top of a gym, but the food was perfect for what we wanted! The smoothies and salads are super fresh and flavorful, and actually filling without loads of lettuce.

The food and the service was really good. We enjoyed the view (especially the sunset) from this rooftop restaurant/bar. Can recommend going there.

The place was perfect! It had a beautiful, airy atmosphere. The staff were friendly and down to earth. I had the banana pancakes, which was perfectly presented with a side of local fruit. They also do a lunch menu that looked delicious. This little gem of a restaurant is wonderful place to visit to make you feel welcomed to Cabarete.
