Turismo Comunitario - Casa Condor

The most beautiful place to stay if you want to be close to Chimborazo! On a clear day you get a beautiful sight of the hugest peak in Ecuador. The hostel is cute, clean, and comfortable. We stayed in a double room with two beds, but there were rooms with one queen size bed for couples, and larger dormitory size rooms that would be great for groups. There’s a large common building with a kitchen available for use, and a dining room with a long table great for groups and a cozy fireplace that we sat around at night. We didn’t end up using the kitchen, but ended up paying for breakfast and dinner which were delicious traditional meals. There’s a lot of different hikes with varying difficulties and lengths with guides available from the community, as well as the opportunity to participate in cultural nights and observe how they make their handicrafts. There’s lots of cute sheep and alpacas nearby, and everyone was welcoming to let us walk around. If you’re looking for an authentic experience in an Ecuadorian community I recommend Casa Condor strongly!

Casa Cóndor was a fabulous place to spend time in the mountains and away from phone service and WiFi. Gorgeous views of Chimborazo right from our bedroom window. We opted to include dinner and breakfast in our stay and the food was great! Traditional soup as well as meat, potatoes, avocado, and salad. There is an alpaca farm just a few minutes from the hostel and lots of baby alpacas when we were there. We got to see community members taking their sheep and alpacas out to pasture. They offer lots of hikes and cultural experiences. There is plenty of room in the hostel for large groups and a nice communal room with a fireplace!

The best, the only way to fully experience the complexity of these mountain is to be welcomed by the people that lived there for centuries.
Their welcome was extremely warm and friendly and the range of services they provide can fit all travelers' needs, from the low training tourists, like us, to the adventure seekers who wish to reach the furthest peak from the center of the planet, Chimborazo.
It has been a privilege to share some time with this community and to see the mountain with their eyes.
If you are travelling through Ecuador, do not miss Casa Condor!

Stayed here for a night during university. Such an idyllic little place.

Toller Ort, ganz ruhig.
Abendessen sehr lecker, Frühstück mit Müsli, Joghurt und Eiern.
Kamin im Gemeinschaftsraum.
Milch anstelle Milchpulver zum Frühstück wäre besser. Zudem sind 28 Dollar pro Person zu teuer, 20 Dollar wären angebracht.
Insgesamt aber zu empfehlen!

Muy buen lugar a atención excelente y el lugar muy lindo, es muy hogareño, se recomienda ir abrigado ya que las noches por más que se use el calefactor es frío, de ahí el lugar recomendado

El mejor sitio para hospedarse cerca del volcán Chimborazo. Las habitaciones son muy confortables. Hay paquetes de hospedaje que incluyen cena y desayuno. Buen servicio y cordialidad de quienes atienden allí. Excelente lugar para relajarse y disfrutar de la naturaleza de altura

Casa Condor es un hostal increíblemente cómodo con vistas hermosas. La comunidad de San Pablo es dueña de Casa Condor. Ellos ofrecen comida, guías para caminar por Chimborazo, noches culturales y varias artesanías. Lo recomendó mucho para grupos grandes y mochileros en camino a conocer el hermoso Páramo, el volcán y las vicuñas y alpacas. Quedarnos en Casa Condor fue una experiencia única y auténtica!

La Casa Condor est le lieu idéal pour faire un arrêt au pied du Chimbarozo. L'équipe est vraiment très accueillante et propose de multiples activités : randonnée à pied ou à cheval, montée au Chimbarozo, présentation de l'artisanat local, ... Le gîte est implanté au cœur de la communauté, idéal pour échanger avec ces personnes qui vivent ici depuis des générations. Très bon site pour les familles, ou pour les montagnards qui veulent se préparer pour l'ascension de ce volcan imposant. Merci à Miguel, Marco, Pasqual, et leurs familles !

La comuna es muy acogedora, la comida es increíble y la fauna nativa lo hace especial !
