Clínica Baños de Agua Santa

Had to be hospitalized for an uncertain period of time because of a bacterial infection. The staff were so helpful, medical service was greaf. They took real good care of me. They even let my wife stay with me for the whole period, which ended up being 10 days. Many thanks again to the great staff!

We received such great care when we entered with a 9 year old boy who fell on his head and needed stitches. We didn’t have to wait and everything was done super fast, hygienically and expertly. The price you pay is on par with private clinic rates. They tried speaking English too which helped.

Thank you, Dr. Gerardo Zumbana Lopez, and the nursing staff for being so competent and kind during my allergic crisis. On arrival from Quito, the next day, my face blew up like a balloon with massive hives, and I desperately needed medical care. I was headed to the hospital, but came across this very clean, modern, 24/7 urgent care clinic and they took me right in. With my limited Spanish, we were able to communicate (you can always use a translator app) effectively and after an IM dose of steroids, IV fluids, IV antihistamines, and a few Rx, I was on my way to recovery and enjoyed the rest of my time in Baños. All for ~US $75. As a medical ICU nurse in the States, I can vouch for the excellent care. Thank you!

Scary how they gave me completely false and in the worst case deadly information. After a bite from a wild dog they told me one shot of verorab Vaccine is sufficient to save me from a possible rabies infection. This is 100% a wrong information! A complete postexposition scheme involves more than one shot. This undermines the credibility of this place heavily.

Also, they had great care but super high prices! I got one verorab (antirrabia shot) vaccine after a dog bite. They charged me 110 USD.

Comparison: In Quito (in another private Clinic) they charged me 25 USD for the Vaccine and 6 USD for the service. They said those were the market prices.

Here in this clinic it was more than ~350% more expensive, which I would consider a rip off because there can't be a proper explanation for this. The hospital staff in Quito was ashamed and apaled about the pricing and wrong information this clinic gave me.

Therefore I cannot recommend this place. The staff was nice to me and helpful, but I am very disappointed for reasons mentioned above.

I want to warn travelers, the service was poor, the price I paid was 3 times higher than anywhere in Ecuador, the doctor was busy on the phone all the time of my visit, insolence there is no other word.
