El Cráter Hotel - Restaurante - Spa

This place and its staff are amazing and top-notch. The food was some of the best we experienced here in Quito. Definitely recommend it for any occasion.

Very beautiful place on an extremely beautiful mountain top with spectacular views of a green crater and other peaks around, a serene location to be sure. Really good food, including the signature beef El cráter which had a most delicious sauce around it. Wonderful soups and lamb as well as the desserts.... this restaurant is tip-top awesome. You'll need a reservation to get a rear dining room table with a view of the crater, but it is beautiful all around. You can also walk all the way around outside to take it all in!

AMAZING scenery ! ! ...and far away from the pollution of Quito.
Stayed one night, had dinner and breakfast. The place is starting to show its age, but still 5 stars over all.

One of the best hotels we have stayed. The views from both side are phenomenal. It is clean, spacious with great services. We took a lot of beautiful photos in the morning for volcano and mountains. Highly recommended.

Love this place, very cloudy (which is what I like the best). It is as if living in another world.
WARNING: the temperature here is between 12-15 degree Celsius, very vey very cold, the water for the shower is not hot at all and the worst of all is that they don’t have efficient heaters.

Had a beautiful lunch here. Pig foot soup followed by goat stew, finishing with carmelized figs! Amazing. Beautiful grounds, would love to try the hotel.

The staff here are very friendly, helping me arrange my covid test for return to the US and letting me hang out in my room well after check out because they knew my ride wasn’t showing up until latter. The hiking right from the hotel is nice. A few nearby lunch/coffee/beer spots. But really an pleasant break from the city.

I went with friends to celebrate our friend Maite's birthday. The owner came out to give us recommendations and see how everything was. Everyone's meal was delicious and the birthday will always be a special memory for everyone.

My friend and I had the BEST day at El Crater. We got an hour long massage and a facial. The package came with sangria, fruit and tea. The service was impeccable. When you book the spa, you will be the ONLY ones there due to Covid restrictions, which feels really special. We had an hour in the jacuzzi and sauna as well. The architecture is bright, clean and modern. We also had the most amazing view of the crater below 10/10.

One of our favorite restaurants when we take groups of tourists to Ecuador. Not only has a breathtaking view but the food and the service are superb. Last time we went with a group of 12, the restaurant was packed but the waiters were so ready to help, always smiling despite the fact that they were running around to keep everybody satisfied. Do not expect super fast service, take your time, while you wait, take pictures of the crater, the clouds come and go, so sometimes it is cloudy, later it opens up and so on.
I recommend you make a reservation ahead of time. If you want a quicker service, order their set menu.

The hotel has very large rooms. Comfortable beds. Fantastic views. The service is amazing. The views of the crater are spectacular. The food is also quite good. It is a trek to the city. But it is so relaxing definitely recommend this place.

This hotel was amazing! My boyfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed the property. It is tucked into the mountainside about 7km from the Equator. The view from the bed - looking out at all the mountains and volcanoes - can't be topped. Beautiful room, wonderful and accommodating staff, quiet surroundings, hot water (!), delicious food...the list could go on. I originally had a room booked in Quito but at the last minute changed my mind to this place. I'm so glad I did. It was well worth it. Thank you to the staff who made our stay so fantastic. We miss Ecuador already!

The staff super friendly and helpful. The rooms comfortable, clean and with beautiful views. The hotel property breathtaking. The views from the hotel, words can not describe. The hotel was able to provide information for a driver that I could hire. He was amazing, friendly, patient, helpful and just a nice guy. I can not thanking enough for all his help during all the travel we did while in Quito with my family including a 4 y/o boy and a 83 year grandmother. His name is Mr. Vadim.

A visit to this magical place was the highlight of my trip to Ecuador. Were I ever to return to the place where I was born, I would make sure to visit El Crater again. The view is majestic, but the restaurant enhances the scenery and the service complements the whole experience.

Best restaurant in the area with a superb view of the Pululahua crater when it is clear; when it's not, you will feel you are eating among the clouds. Great atmosphere to share with friends. Try their natural juices made with local fruits.
