The best butterfly garden I have been to hands down. This place was huge and very well crafted. I love that they will teach you how to safely pick up a butterfly. It was educational and happy for the soul at the same time. Go if you get a chance.

The butterfly garden is fantastic. I found photographing them worked better when it was overcast rather than sunny. The cafe was the most gorgeous Cafe I've seen anywhere, full of flowers at every table. The food was good and the price wasn't too high.

Wonderful butterfly farm. Great short lecture on lifecycle of butterflies. Watch them work out of their chrysalis. Then enter a netted room where they gain their strength as their wings dry out and they snack on fruit before they're released.
The best surprise for me was the feeding platforms for the beautiful wild birds that came to eat. I didn't have time to go on a bird-watching tour oh, but I don't feel like I missed anything now . All the windows of the restaurant had good views of feeding stations. The food in the restaurant was excellent. Watching the birds was priceless.

A paradise for Butterflys and human. I loved this place so much. First you get a Brief introduction into the life cycle where they let you see and Touch some . Then you enter this beautiful place where you can Feedback the butterflies.
There is also a restaurant and a nice little Shop with Things to buy.

Experience butterflies up close like you never thought was possible. They give a short explanation about their life cycle and demonstrate with samples of the ones that they study and breed. After that you enter a netted area with hundreds of butterflies which you can feed with bananas as they stand on your hand. Beautiful experience!

What a beautiful place, the butterfly garden was such an experience! But not only the garden is beautiful, the premises are also lovely, great drinks and tasty food, and all with very fair prices. A must go when in Mindo, highly recommended! Plan your visit so that you can have lunch there, it is really worth it.

Saw a lot of species on the day I was there. Quite an impressive facility. Construction on a newer area is underway and will definitely enhance the experience. I will return at a different time of year to see the species active at that time.

Lovely place full of loads of friendly butterfly species. Good interior and exterior environments and hope they release them back into the wild as they say.

I visited only the butterfly park. Outstanding. Impressive. Beautiful. Take the guided tour. It is only a few minutes but makes the difference.
If you go to Mindo, this is a must-go place

Its not a hostel but a butterfly santuary; it's beautiful and a great way to spend some relax quiet time while in Mindo

The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and the grounds are stunning. There are many kinds of butterflies to see in various stages and you can go at your own pace which was neat. There are also hummingbird feeders, and if you sit on a bench for about 5 minutes you'll probably see 10 or more of the little guys. A very cool experience, would recommend.

Well worth visiting, numerous butterflies, all colours and sizes. Able to see the various stages of their growth ,from pupae to butterfly. Very informative guides.

Staff was kind, and chit chat is kept to a minimum with people working there. You get a small quick overview about how butterflies come to be, and then enter the garden house where they are flying all around. We went on a Wednesday morning and there weren't many people at all (two others were there already and by the time we were getting ready to go two other folks came). It made a really calming atmosphere. There is a cafe on-site and we ate breakfast there. It surprisingly wasn't bad (maybe 1-2$ more than your places in the village center).

Lovely place to see a range of butterflies in every stage of development. Part reserve, part tourist attraction, the place is very well organized - the main part being a butterfly housing

If you like to be part of nature, you have a nice place at the cloud forest in the Valley of Mindo. You can see to many types of butterfly, different colors, sizes, and desings on their wings. Wonderful creatures, I do not get tired of looking at them.
There is a beautiful garden with fullcolor flowers and hummingbirds.
And if you're hungry you have a nice restaurant with a variety of exotic fruit juices and dishes.

They have done this place up so that it has more things to do with kids. The children loved they could have such close contact with butterflies and they learned about their entire life cycle, we even saw one coming out of its cocoon. There is now two towers to climb as well as a hummingbird watch.

I've visited several butterfly places and this is truly the best. It's very much worth the admission price.

We always enjoy our visit to the Mariposario. Super fun for the kids. They help contribute to butterfly populations and research. Nice restaurant and hostal as well. They are open 9am-4pm

A wonderful experience every single time. Fantastic food while watching birds especially early in the morning.

Go early in the morning and see the butterfly break free from the cacoon. There were so many varieties and in large numbers. Early in the morning we also had the place to ourselves. As we were leaving it was getting busy.
