Banana Lodge

We had a lovely stay at Banana Lodge. It’s a very well kept property, located on the river. The host Anna, speaks English. There is a great self catering kitchen, it’s quiet, has air con and within walking distance of Puerto Misahualli, a small village with good restaurant options.

Banana Lodge in Puerto Misahuall exceeded all my expectations! From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by its enchanting ambiance, warm hospitality, and breathtaking surroundings. Nestled amidst nature, the lodge offers a perfect blend of comfort and adventure. The staff's friendliness and attention to detail truly made my stay unforgettable. The best place we have stayed at in Ecuadorso far. It has a kitchen for self catering coupled with awesome river views. One of the owners has excellent English, making it easy for us to get local knowledge. Highly recommended.

Marvelous lodge and owners, Anna and Carlos. You don’t need any more than this for a trip to the Amazon. I could sit on the deck and watch the river for hours. Trust Anna and Carlos with their local knowledge and you’ll have an amazing stay.

I had an amazing time here. The facilities were modern, tidy, great quality and the lodge is located right above the river. It allows you to feel secluded in the jungle but you are still close enough to town after a short walk. I plan to come back here again.

I love, love, love the Banana Lodge in Misahualli! The gracious Ana and her husband take particular care of their guests. The Lodge, with its magnificent garden, and a calming river that runs along the property, is like a piece of paradise. If you are looking for a tranquil escape that is clean, quiet and within a short walk to the center of town, the Banana Lodge is definitely the place to escape to. Beautiful lodge, wonderful warm hosts. Amazing gardens, extremely clean and well kept. Wonderful place to hammock and relax by river after a mountain biking day. Highly recommend. Plus check out Ana's hand made jewelry.

The Banana Lodge was an absolutely oasis of peace! It was so MUCH better than we expected it to be!!!
- The hosts, Anna and Eduardo, were extremely friendly, we enjoyed our little chats with them and there were always available for whatever we might have needed.
- The property of the place is simply STUNNING! It's so green wherever you look, there are hammocks everywhere and you have the sound of the river flowing by - we wished we could have stayed there longer and would have for sure extended our stay if we didn't have plans afterwards.
- It's a short walking distance of just about 10 minutes to the very center of Misahualli, which means that it's close to all the "attractions" but super quiet and calm at night!
- The price is quite elevated in comparison to the other accommodation we paid in Ecuador but it was well worth it! The property is so perfectly cared for that you instantly feel at home there.

Very clean and friendly place. Just outside of town, 5 or 10 minutes walking to center of Misahualli. Quiet. Our room had double bed plus bunk bed for the kids. No AC. No TV. Good shower. Fans were enough to keep cool. Breakfast of fruit, eggs, bread, good coffee, etc. Nice relaxed place to stay.

Wonderful place! Location is ideal, all services are at your word, wonderful views and activities all around. Loved it, again and again!
We stayed for 4 days as a large group, and I had a customized experience, wonderful breakfast, and all fun I could want. We got recommendations for tours and how to get to them, we got a driver through the owner from the airport, and more. Highly recommended.

My favourite place in Misahualli and probably in the whole Ecuador. Beautiful house set in fantastic well kept gardens by the river where one can swim and enjoy the beach on a hot day. Amazing spacious kitchen and great food. A little paradise of your own. Highly recommended.

Amazing place! Pictures don’t do it justice. Great value, rooms are super clean. The river is right below the property and it is super beautiful and perfect for swimming. Breakfast is included and was also great. Definitely recommend!

Had a fabulous stay with Anna and family. Clean, comfortable rooms with hot showers! Beautiful breakfast. Short walk into the village to watch the monkeys. We had a great stay and didn't want to leave.

Great place to stay right on the river and you can walk down to the river and sit in its banks. Wide veranda an the rooms we stayed and plenty of room. Showers were big but hot water a bit strange but that's Ecuador 😉

This is really the perfect spot if you want to feel like you're *kinda* in the jungle but still like to have a tiny town to eat in and walk around. When you're in the lodge you can hear the river rumble past and the birds chirp. But it's also on a road (not busy at all but leads to the small town center) so if you're able to only come for a couple of days you don't have to spend an entire day getting there. Anna and her husband have made a paradise here. Places to lounge outside, great breakfast (lunch and dinner you need to go to town for), and just in general a great vibe. I was happy just to relax and watch the river roll by but if you're into activities, Anna can hook you up no matter your budget. She told me what was good around that I didn't need to have a tour or a guide for. I loved it here! Also there are cats!!! They are pretty shy but will allow you to look at them and take pictures.

An amazing place in the jungle! The staff is very friendly and you can tell that they love what they are doing! The lodge owns a part of the river where you can also swim. The rooms are nice and spacious and the breakfast really great!

Excellent place, one of the best in whole Ecuador!

Added one year later: I stayed again several days ago, with a group of students, everything is even better then before. Now there is more rooms, and many more improvements are on the way.

Lovely place. Comfortable room with good beds. A lot of things to do in the nearby surroundings. The location close to the river is fantastic!
