Café de la Vaca Machachi

I was told by multiple locals to go here, and they were absolutely right about it being a great place to eat! We had one beef dish and one lamb dish- both cooked and flavored perfectly. The desserts were spectacular, and even the appetizers hit the spot. Top all of that off with a wonderful view of Cotopaxi, and this is a place I'll go again next time I'm in Ecuador for sure.

I've been to Café de la Vaca every time we've visited Ecuador. Service is friendly and welcoming however it can be slow at times. Their views and food more than makes up for it. Very family and kid friendly, they have a playground outside so kids can run around, inside they even some kiddy tables. Great views from the restaurant. A great way to end the day after a visit to Cotopaxi.

Delicious food and amazing service! I hadn't gone back since I was 10, but I'm glad to see that the place is still amazing. Try the French toast and vegetarian eggs. Yummy!

Great food! Great service! A hidden gem!

Been eating here for 20 years, mostly the big cheeseburgers, fries and amazing milk shakes. The entire menu is worth stopping for and it's a classic Ecuadorian restaurant with fresh cheese and dairy.

An well-established favorite amount g Ecuadorians, Cafe de l Vaca Is best visited on weekdays or when they first open at 8am on weekends. Alternatively, make a reservation! Breakfast is very good but my favorite meal is Locro de Papas. They offer several versions and a small bowl is sufficient for a filling lunch.

Great breakfast place - mostly local produced ingredients, a very nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Good opportunity to try local foods and drink - Goldenberry juice was delicious!

For me this is a "must go to" restaurant everytime we visit Ecuador. Food is fresh and authentic, we love the breakfast with fresh milk and "nata". And the Locro soup is the best!

Best steaks ever in the middle of nowhere. Not cheap as good steaks cost $25 but they are huge and great. Recommended.
