▶ This Orthodox community church was a part of Paldiski Fortress project, founded by Peter the great at the beginning of 1720 and finished 1728. Built by Russian soldiers and (forced) workers sent from Russia for building the port and fortress.

In 1802, there were 211 members of the Paldiski Orthodox Church, so basically not many members.

A lot of Swedes from nearby islands were forced to convert to orthodox religion and join the church, that was around 1880.

During Soviet time the church was closed and decorations removed.
