Kuigi tegemist venekeelse linna ja -linnavalitsusega, parim eestikeelsete raamatute valik maakonnas (tunduvalt parem, kui Jõhvi Keskraamatukogus). Raamatukogutöötajad vene rahvusest, aga eesti keeles küsides alati meeldiv ja kiire teenindus.

Ville propre avec beaucoup d'espaces verts de formidables pistes cyclable. Il n'y pas d'insécurité devant les grands ensembles comme en France,. Les gens roulent avec de très belles voitures souvent récentes. Les usines d'industrie chimique sont présentés parfois par l'odeur mais c'est ce qu'il fait la richesse de la ville et donne des emplois.
