This place is one of the nicest Albergue (Inn) on the Portuguese Coastal Camino. While it costs a bit more than your average walk-in Albergue, the owner Tanya is a pilgrim and she understands how it feels to roll in after walking hot and dusty in the heat. You get a free cold welcome drink, the water pressure is amazing and wonderful, and in the morning a free, freshly baked croissant (plain or chocolate) there are two nice places for dinner nearby. Such a treat to beat the heat near the sea and the lovely monastery nearby.

WOW! What a surprise on our journey to Santiago! This place is such a gem in so many aspects: a cute village, a welcoming beer/drink, amazing views of both the church and the ocean, cozy clean rooms with great mattresses, two perfectly clean nice bathrooms, a well-equipped spacious kitchen to prepare your own meals, free use of washing and drying machines, free coffee, croissant in the morning, and as a cherry on top - Tanya is a great host who is a native American, so you will not have any problems communicating with her. The only "downside" is that reservations aren't possible, but when you end up here, you certainly know why you walked, and this comes as a great reward after a tiring day.

A true gem on our first day in Spain! We received such a warm welcome from Tanya with a fresh drink to relax after a long day of walking. The Inn is so clean, beautifully decorated and offers all the amenities you need to rest, prepare your own meals and even do your laundry. A fresh croissant in the morning spices up the deal!

The nicest place I have stayed in during my camino (ok, so far, but I'll doubt if other hostels will beat this place). Tanya was incredibly helpfull and friendly. And nature threw in the best sunset ever to make the experience complete.

Lovely place to stop on the Camino, a warm welcome, beautiful house, small shared rooms, washing machine and dryer (also outside space to dry), beautiful views and contact details for a super local physio.

This place is really nice, and I really enjoyed the owner's kindness and detailed explanations, welcome drink, and free use of the laundry and dryer. If I ever visit the area again, I would stay there again without hesitation.

Staying with Tanya at La Cala and experiencing Oia was one of the best times I’ve had after over 40 days on Camino. She’s incredibly welcoming and considerate, her home is beautiful and Oia is a perfect place to stop and relax. Highly recommend and would absolutely stay again. Laundry on site, physiotherapy available through a local, beautiful kitchen, GREAT SHOWER! Incredible views.

Tanya's place, LaCala is amazing. Super clean, always beautiful, free welcome drink on a hot day and there are fresh croissants and coffee in the morning! What other place offers that kind of hospitality? For that price. She could be charging double. It's a wonderful place and well worth the stop.

La Cala - A Pilgrim's Inn has been the best accommodation we've had so far on the Camino!

It is impeccably clean, beautifully arranged, with gorgeous views and a delightful patio where you came enjoy a glass of Rioja.

Tanya was incredibly welcoming and treated us to delicious coffee, beer and croissants. We would recommend this place to anyone doing the Camino!

It was the best albergue/hostel I stayed in during my entire Camino. The owner is such a lovely woman and offers free welcome drinks as well as beautifully decorated and comfortable rooms.

The entire experience at this hostel was amazing, I would definitely come back if I were to do the Camino again, and to stay a couple of nights!

La Cala owned and run by the kind and thoughtful Tanya, and is one of the most beautiful guesthouses/albergues I’ve been too.
Set in the gorgeous town of Oia every view out of the windows is just breathtaking.
La Cala is close to a beautiful restaurant, and within easy walking of local supermarket/general shops and cafes.
Tanya provides a welcome drink, a coffee machine, fresh croissants each morning, free fryer and washing machine, beautiful kitchen and bathroom facilities.
La Cala is clean and comfortable and a perfect home away from home to take a rest day while in the Camino.

This hostel is simply a cut above other very good hostels that I have been in during my current Camino. It is fresh, clean, comfortable, accessible, near bars and restaurant and the beach. I really enjoyed freshly baked chocolate croissant for breakfast.

As soon as we arrived, Tanya greeted us with a warm smile and treated us like family. We were offered a cold drink while she talked to us about all the amenities available there and around town. From the very first time you step into La Cala, she makes sure that you have the best pilgrims experience ever. This is hands down our favorite place to stay and we hope to return to La Cala again in the future. Our only regret is that we didn’t schedule an extra day at LaCala.

Beautiful as heaven, the best stay on my Camino so far😍
Very nice and clean rooms, as well as the bathroom!
Washing and drying machine is included and I got a welcome beer from the heartwarming owner as well.
There's a kitchen with everything you need you can use, also a living area and a garden. 5 stars are even too less for this great service and souls!!! ❤❤❤❤❤

LaCala had clean and comfortable rooms, restrooms, free use washer/dryer and a kitchen with complementary food to make meals and coffee. A one minute walk from a restaurant and cafe and a wonderful view of the monastery and ocean. The hostel dog, Mia, is very friendly and well trained and does not enter the guest portion of the property but will happily play fetch with you. The owner is a wonderful woman from America making this albergue a very easy stop for English speakers. Of the albergues on the Portuguese Coastal way so far this has been the best.

This place is the absolute best. I can’t believe the value for money, and how beautiful and comfortable it is. Best place to stay on the Camino. Would 100000% come back! Beer on arrival, jug of sangria, free laundry, beautiful views, comfortable beds, great host, free coffee/tea, so many clean towels, fresh croissants in the morning… what a paradise.
