Very clean and tidy site only stayed 1 night on way to ferry but will have no hesitation on staying there longer.

Next to the beach.
Good bar and food.

We campervan camped there for 2 nights from Friday until Monday.
Not too busy on the weekend and very quiet on Monday.
Barr is open with food which is good. Takeaway was closed.
Shop on site a pure gem, very reasonable prices with a large selection of food, drink, beach chairs etc etc.
Toilets clean, pitches are of a decent size and marked out well.
Beach is approx 5 mins from campsite gates(depending where pitched)
Excellent beach and the sea was Chrystal clear when we were there.
Only a few restaurants open close to campsite due to early in the season.
Will definitely visit again.

Stayed here many times both short and long stays. Great location with fabulous beach alongside. Facilities exceptional and generous pitches. Very popular with Spanish families so be prepared for lots of children enjoying themselves. 5 years since last stay so even more upgrading done. Very convenient spot prior to boarding ferry at Santander

The actual campsite, as far as caravanning is concerned, cannot in its essentials be faulted. It is well maintained, has good sized pitches in the main, many of which are shaded by mature trees. It has a range of provisions and amenities..a restuarant , bar, shop, swimming pool, laundrette etc etc. And an animal park which is open on a limited number of days, depending on the season. The campsite is located next to a glorious beach which provides excellent surf and to which there is direct access. The toilet and showers blocks are of the highest standard and are spotlessly clean, airy and modern. Among the very best we have encountered .But in common with many sites there is a lack of sufficient hooks for towels, toilet bags, clothes, particularly in the ladies toilets. A quirky feature of the toilets needs mentioning. Anyone using the toilet is required to determine in advance just how much toilet paper they will require and to collect it from dispensers located outside of the cubicles. A system I have encountered only once before in 46 years caravanning. Just what the reasoning is for this arrangement is hard to determine but it can hardly be an economic one....it is more than likely that most people will take more than they will actually need or use, just to be on the safe side! That oddity aside, the facilities are excellent and as a campsite I can recommend it. But it has to be said that I cannot see how the campsite can justify their charges. With a special deal... before even the LOW season started ..we paid 29 Euros per night for a caravan, 2 persons and electric. It would normally have been 36.50...... BEFORE the LOW season! LOW season it would be 45.50. In HIGH season, for a family of 4 with 2 children over 10 year s of age the cost per night is 80.50! Astonishingly, they also charge for WIFI. We stayed at 6 other sites this trip.None of them charged for wifi and the most we paid per night was 22 euros. Though the campsite cannot be faulted, other than in small details noted above, I would not pay such prices. They seem to me to be exhorbitant. But that is for others to decide. Finally...and most importantly...the campsite bans dogs. Sufficient in itself to almost warrant the high tariffs! Freedom from barking dogs and their indulgent owners who treat them as if they are human and fail totally to train them. For this relief, much thanks, Playa Joyel.
Just one final criticism...the recycling provision is very poor. Non existent. The recycling BIN was outside the campsite, by the entrance. It was full and overflowing for a week . Nowhere in the paperwork provided on arrival is this stated. On the site there are only green general waste bins and people were putting recyclable material in these bins. Either because they did not know, not having been told that there were recycling bins available, however limited, at the site entrance, or because they were too lazy to walk to the entrance to recycle . Or did not care. The management should address this issue urgently. It is quite unacceptably irresponsible . It reflects badly on them. Frankly, it is dispiriting, for those who ARE committed to recycling and are concerned for the environment, to find such disregard for environmental concerns, on the part of the managenent.

Great campsite, lots of outdoor space for kids to play and right on the beach. Odd little 'zoo' on one side of the park which is open for like 45mins 2x a week and has Emu roaming wild...yikes! 🤣 Site has shop, bar, restaurant etc and all the usuals. The swimming pool requires you to wear swimming hats which is a little off putting. We just swam in the sea.

It is a great place for a holiday . The beaches are lovely and sandy . the camp side is clean and well maintained. A walk to the town of Noja is about half and hour to the centre. Do not forget to take a tour of town with the small tourist train .

Lovely campsite. They were so friendly. The beach accessed from the campsite is one of the best beaches I have ever been on. It's simple wonderful. There is a shallow river the flows into the sea at the west part of the beach, which floods when the tide comes in. My kids loved playing in it. You can easily cross the river when the tide is out it's much less the knee deep in most parts, and have a nice meal in the town on the other side.

One of the best campsites we have visited in Spain or France

Cafe was poor and expensive for the quality of food. There are a number of butchers in the town to get some nice steaks for the bbq

I was here with a tent in the end of june. It is super clean. There is a swimming pool and places for different kinds of sport. There is a supermarket and a bar, both a little pricey and nothing special. It is 5 min away from the beach and very quiet.

Nice site, clean facilities, great for kids. Easy beach access, well stocked supermarket and bar. The region is amazing with beautiful clean beaches with a mountain and forest backdrop. Very busy in high season as you would expect but did not have any noise issues during the night. I will be recommending this site to my friends and family.

Wonderful campsite with clean and bright facilities. Includes a reasonably priced shop, restaurant, pool, tennis court, visiting doctor and a hair salon. There is a wildlife park attached where you can feed animals twice a week. It's situated beside a beautiful beach and has showers by the entrance to it.

Really well organised and beautifully located camping site. The ocean is just behind the fence. The beach is wide and sandy with lots of possibilities to bathe and swim and sunbathe. The town Noja is within a walking distance. The camping site is very well equipped - supermarket, restaurant etc. We really enjoyed our stay there.

This is our favourite campsite in Cantabria, we've been coming every year for about 15 years. It's not cheap but the pitches are big, the toilet blocks spotless & the beach is totally amazing. In Noja there's a fantastic café that sells the best rabas ever along with all the other Spanish tapas you'd expect. In Isla there's another restaurant near the beach that's worth going to for the menu del dia lunch. Isla is walkable from Playa Joyel through a nature reserve. All in all somewhere we'll be coming to for as long as we can... it's only 45 minutes from Santander ferry terminal too.
