Hotel Hospes Palacio del Bailío

Wonderful hotel in the heart of the old city. Easy walking access to main sites, but away from noise of the touristic zone. Excellent service from the moment of arrival; our room, a “junior suite”, was huge, with comfortable furniture and modern, excellent bath facilities. Breakfast was very good, and the breakfast/dinner room itself if very interesting for sits look (through the floor!) at uncovered Roman ruins. Unfortunately we did not have time to enjoy the Roman baths or the pool, but both looked like worthy fits to the luxury vibe of the hotel. The hotel is somewhat expensive, but worthy of the extra spend.

This is a beautiful hotel located about 15-mins walk from the Mosque and about 10-mins by taxi to the train station. It is built on the ruins of a Roman villa, the remnants of which you can see through the breakfast floor! (The staff will also show it to you.) I had a very nice room, although it did smell strongly of cigarette smoke when I first walked in, but the odor did dissipate. Regardless, it’s a beautiful hotel with very nice staff. I was there for 2 days and quite busy with tours, so didn’t get a chance to try the spa or pool. I would stay again, as it was good value.

We did a trip from Porto down to Marrakech and Casablanca, and this was one of our favorite and most memorable stays. The grounds are gorgeous, staff is incredible, and amenities like I haven’t seen elsewhere before. The Roman ruins displayed below the restaurant with a glass floor is incredible. And the thermae/baths are so much fun. Love to have a cold plunge pool to recoup after a long, very hot day of sightseeing/walking.

You can tell the hotel staff care about the property and guest experience.

Everything was amazing down to every detail. This is such a tranquil hotel in the midst of the city. You feel like you’re in paradise. The only thing I would say is the rooms need to have conditioner in the shower.

Stunning hotel in a good location . Food and service were amazing . We were in a junior suite which was huge. The pool and garden were beautiful and are an oasis from the heat . The only negative was that some guests didn’t clear away their used pool towels / robes from the sun beds when they were done and neither did the hotel staff . It often meant being unsure if beds were free and waiting around for a free bed.

Superb hotel in Cordoba. Cordoba itself is a bit touristy (although not to be missed - the cathedral is a once in a lifetime experience), but this hotel is an oasis a 15 min walk to the downtown historic center. The service is impeccable, and the garden and pool area just beautiful. We sprung for the $24 per person breakfast as part of a room deal, and were so glad we did. The buffet portion was expansive with lots of local favorites to try, as well as a robust a la carte egg selection. The rooms were roomy, comfortable and quiet, and ours was set up as we requested. At check in we received sparkling water (or cava), and the gave us boxes of water at our departure. It was just a perfect stay.

If you go to Cordoba you really want to stay here.It is a boutique hotel where the tranquility hits you immediately you step foot in the courtyard.The bed is spacious and comfortable and the rear garden is lovely and peaceful.The staff are warm and friendly. The only thing that disappointed Ted us was the fact there was a corporate event on which impacted on the staff and the courtyard was off limits for an afternoon.
The spa is relaxing.
In future if the hotel has a corporate event on they should let their guests know and consider reducing the charge to them or offer them compensation.

Overall top class place to stay

Beautiful and historical hotel in the center of Cordoba. Service was excellent! We got a luxury suite room, one of the biggest room in the hotel. Breakfast, lunch and dinner was the best! I would love to come back again to this hotel!

The hotel is an exceptional place to stay. We got an upgrade to a Junior Suite with Soul and we loved it! Room was spacious and absolutely quiet, bed very comfortable. Everything was extremly clean, very well maintained. The bathroom was wonderful with bathtub, shower, two sinks and very good cosmetics. We had a little anteroom to sit and a mini patio just for us. The breakfast belongs to the best breakfasts I had in a hotel and we travel a lot: fresh orange juice, choice of egg dishes, fresh fruits and a wide choice of food in general. Staff was very friendly and supportive. We liked the pool area, the loungers and Sofas are very comfortable, a lot of trees and everywhere the smell of citrus blossoms. Hotel is located in a quiet area but in close walking distance to the City center. A perfect stay for us and we would like to come back.

We got this hotel through Amex fine hotels and resorts. We got an upgrade when we checked in. The room was fantastic. The room had a lot of character with old but modern decorations and lightings. Bed was very comfortable and breakfast was amazing. We had lunch beside the pool which was great. Maria was the person who showed us the hotel and she was very nice and explained us the history of the hotel.
Overall it was an excellent experience

Exceptional. Quiet, relaxing and great service. Can be a bit difficult to find but worth the trip. Restaurant was excellent and Spa as well - Recommend Roman baths and massage with Susana and Estefania was great. Thank you.

Rooms are lovely, the spa is delightful and the Turkish style hot water baths underneath are very relaxing after a long day sightseeing, food is good. But the coffee is instant and could be improved. Overall perfect location in a beautiful tranquil spot. And the beds are sooo comfortable 🥰

Our stay at Palacio del Bailio was exceptional. The room was tastefully decorated and the beds were comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast had a wide variety of healthy and delicious choices. The Roman baths and facial (with Christina) in the spa were some of the highlights.

Wow - what a hotel. From the staff that spotted us driving up the road with a and confused look, the most welcome glass of cold cava lovely room, pool and spa, and great food. Especially thanks to the valet team. Cordoba is a really interesting town- if you waze to the hotel - don’t give up hope as you wind down *really* narrow roads seeming to zig zag without progress- it’s worth it

This place is so lovely- beautiful rooms/outdoor spaces. Renovated 17th century palace built over Roman ruins you can tour. Loved the use of the Roman baths at the spa. 10/10

The only tiny thing I could say is I feel like they need more staff in the dining area but the
Staff they have were all lovely and nice.

We spent our anniversary here, was an amazing experience, an oasis in the heat. The food is wonderful, the service is top-notch.

Everything is 15 minutes away on foot from here, literally.

Hotel is beautiful. The garden and pool are a welcome respite for the hot midday. The underground pools are special too. Had a wonderful massage with Paco.
