The Church of San Antón is a Catholic temple located in the Old Town neighbourhood of Bilbao, Spain. It is dedicated to Anthony the Great, known as San Antón in Spanish. It is featured, along with the San Antón Bridge, in the city's coat of arms. The estuary of Bilbao flows next to it.

Very simple church but with very rich history. The ticket is 6euros but this includes the Santiago Church.

The San Antonio Abad Parish Church is the site of the greatest tradition and importance in Bilbao's history as, according to recent excavations carried out inside the temple, the site may have been occupied even a hundred years before the city was founded. In addition to the Church of San Antón, its facade stands out on the north side and is located under a peculiar stand designed by Juan de Láriz from 1559. From this privileged balcony, members of the municipal corporation, whose headquarters was directly in the temple, participated in the shows taking place in Plaza Vieja.

A church worth a visit if you are in Bilbao, some impressive arts, beautiful stained glasses and interesting architecture. I particularly loved the chandelier in one of the chappals. The staff were polite, helpful, friendly and pleasant. One thing I really liked was how the tour of the church is set up. You're given a device which explains details about different part of the church, each point has a number and you can do the tour in your pace, repeat or escape a particular part etc. You can buy combined ticket to visit the church and bilbao cathedrals

It was part of a family day out. I enjoy visiting churches so it was interesting for me listen to the audio guide while looking around.

Iglesia gótica con tres naves la central el doble que las laterales
Es muy parecido a la catedral de Santiago de Bilbao
No hay ábside, tiene una pared recta con retablo
Las bóvedas son de terceletes y también tiene trifolios a lo largo de todas las naves central
Para separar las naves central de las laterales se utiliza arcos apuntados y de medio. Punto sobre pilares con columnas y también urnas grandes columnas
En el coro tiene un órgano
En en la nave lateral de la izquierda hay tres capillas
En el exterior tiene aspecto de fortaleza con un gran campana
Cerca se encuentra el puente de San Antón

Iglesia muy bonita en su exterior y en su interior estilo gótico , muy pequeña y coqueta, tiene mucho encanto y se puede comprar la entrada en conjunto para verla y visitar también la catedral , su ubicación situada junto a la ría ,al puente y al mercado de la ribera le hacen que sea un sitio muy popular y visitada, por lo que es un sitio ideal para pasar un buen rato, empaparse de su historia y hacerte unas fotos muy chulas ya que el paisaje es muy bonito.
Cómo curiosidad decir que aparece en el escudo de la villa

Belle église, différente des églises classiques pour s’adapter au pont à proximité et aux fondations. Intéressant audio guide et pas trop long. Compris dans le prix du billet de la cathédrale de Bilbao. À visiter

Es una iglesia estupenda para visitar en familia y si eres un curioso del ya iglesias. Se encuentra muy en el centro de la ciudad y eso la hace un momento fácil y accesibles para quien visite Bilbao. No es muy grande pero es bonita y da de sí respecto a sus paisajes y entorno.
Les comparto unas fotos de la iglesia de San Antón que no son mías pero son geniales.

Parroquia muy entrañable . Acogedora y cobijo para todos los necesitados , Don Claudio Gallastegi , estaría muy orgulloso . Además tiene un valor arquitectónico , antropológico y artístico a tener siempre en cuenta en los recorridos por el Casco Viejo y la Ribera de Bilbao .
