Hotel Catalonia Puerta Del Sol

What an amazing hotel! Upon check in, we were greeted with friendly faces and very accommodating service. At any time we needed assistance, the reception was always attentive and helpful. The room was large and had all the comforts one needs. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was large, very clean and even supplied tooth brushes! The hotel itself has a beautiful atmosphere. The location is perfect. Steps to everything. Of course because it’s in the city center, parking is in a car park 1 minute away and about $35 a day. I have become a member as it offers some fun perks. We are off to another Catalonia hotel in Malaga that’s how much we enjoyed the hotel. I highly recommend this hotel if you like friendly service, beautiful atmosphere and comfort.

I recently stayed at the Catalonia hotel and had an AMAZING experience. I was with a group of about 20 teenagers, and although we were somewhat rowdy the staff handled us very well and were more than accommodating. The hotel offers a fresh (and delicious!!!!) breakfast each morning located on the bottom floor. The concierge service was outstanding and extremely responsive whenever we had questions or needed something. Additionally, the housekeepers were always on top of it; They came at a convenient time and always left our rooms spotless. I had an phenomenal experience, and I 100% recommend for anyone considering staying at this hotel!!!!

Inside is amazing, all the hotel staff make you feel at home. At the reception everyone is super friendly and always willing to help, the cleaning service is great and the breakfast is exquisite!!!!

If you allow me to advise you the Suite room is amazing, it is 100% worth it!

Hotel with personality and character! Very beautiful inside ,very romantic ,we loved the stairs the most .. I found the location to be absolutely excellent very centric and very close to public transport, the staff to be the friendliest people in Spain and very helpful they went out of their way to make our experience excellent and to solve any issues that we encounter . Breakfast was a bit pricey but once we saw the variety and quality was well worth it.
A small but mighty hotel with a great team that made our experience unique !!
We will be coming back from now on as we think is the hotel of our dreams ...

A nice and cozy hotel right in the center of Madrid, walking distance to all interesting places. It has a beuatiful renovated historic patio and staircase, comfy rooms. The staff is very nice and friendly.

Let me start by saying that this hotel is the most beautiful and pleasant place I could have chosen for my stay in Madrid. My husband and I absolutely loved everything about this hotel. Its location, the cleanliness, the service, the room. I recommend it 100 %.

This was our first visit to Catalonia del Sol. We were happy that our location was walking distance to the museums and restaurants. Our room was very nice; clean with a nice view of the street below. All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful, especially Alba who was always charming, always inquired about our day, and gave us suggestions on where to visit and eat. We highly recommend this wonderful hotel!

Our every encounter with a staff member was a pleasant one. The upgraded room we stayed in was adequately sized and immaculate. It is so nice to actually have that relic from the past, turndown service with a chocolate. The location is super for hitting the highlights of Madrid. We would stay again.

Great hotel, superb location for exploring Madrid, for us everything was in walking distance. Rooms spotlessly clean and good breakfast with plenty of choice. All the staff were very friendly and helpful in particular Celia who helped sort our taxi transfer back to the airport. Madrid is a beautiful city and if we return we would have no hesitation returning to this hotel.

Just returned from a visit to Madrid and a 4 day stay at the Catalonia Puerta del Sol. It was a wonderful experience. The facilities were lovely and the staff superb, especially Alba, Jorge, Carlos and Diego. It’s proximity to the very walkable old town area of Madrid was just great. Lots of restaurants nearby. East to walk to the Prado and a quick taxi ride to terrific shopping. A fabulous experience all around.

The staff puts this hotel in my top category, so friendly and helpful! Great location, comfy beds, tasty breakfast with lots of variety. Your breakfast staff was also very attentive and helpful.

A paradise in the centre of old town Madrid! Classy, homey and first class service. The courtyard is an ideal place to have a glass of wine, to chat w a friend or two, or even to work! The room is big and comfy.

Beautiful hotel in a great area. One of the young woman in the reception helped us to get a taxi which was very helpful. Cleaning crew did a good job. The only negative thing that I can say is that the young man that checked us in ( blonde with light eyes) was not friendly at all which is important when having this position.

It was a great experience. The position of the hotel is near km 0. All good restaurants/bars and streets of shopping are near the hotel- big plus of it. The rooms are exactly as we expected and also I appreciated the little attention that the hotel has it with their guest - a bottle with champagne when we arrived. Super! We felt great!

A wonderful place of stay & is well connected to any transportation required . Very near to all places of interest (all within 750m-900 m)
The staff is very helpful & always is ready to help you with a smile ….& that makes your day !! The breakfast spread is awesome… you are bound to be spoilt for choices .. when in Madrid, do make this your preferred place of stay !

This hotel is just wonderful! Perfect location in walking distance to all the great museums, pedestrian areas and on and on and on. The staff is super nice and after not liking so much the first room they immediately offered us another one AND gave us an upgrade! We enjoyed very much staying at this beautiful place! It's the second time in three months that we stay in one of the Catalonia hotels and we definitely will be guests in one of their hotels again. And whenever in Madrid we DEFINITELY will be back at the Catalonia Puerta Del Sol!
