The Service Course

I participated in a group ride today with The Service Course from Girona to the coast. The staff hosting the ride focused on rider safety, kept the group together with communicated stops, provided a sag car for innocents, were kind and welcoming, and demonstrated upmost respect to pedestrians, cars on the road, and other riders. This was a superior experience as a guest traveling to Girona and I recommend using their services while cycling in the area.

Great experience with the shop. Nice selection of seasonal gear from their own brand, lot of accessories for every type of bike. Hi-end rental bikes: Enve, Open, Steel custom bikes. Great mechanics with a deep knowledge about everything on the bike, including hi-end components. Social ride every weekend and lot of special rides during the year. Shop staff is always friendly, ready to help with any questions. Highly recommended place for every cyclist.

Never have I been to a high-end bike shop that was this amazingly friendly and super helpful. These guys are THE best. Though I meticulously maintain my equipment, I had some last minute finicky problems that they sorted for me, quickly, with a smile, and with impressive expertise. Very familiar with even uncommon, boutique components. Rasmuss is your guy if you need help.

A great team, provided excellent service in English. A top end bike for a reasonable price. I was able to get on the road before the 9:30am state start time, which was appreciated for a long ride day.

An Aladdin’s cave of high end bikes and kit, all beautifully presented. They fitted our friend in for a brake bleed at very short notice and fixed the problem at a very reasonable price. Highly recommended

We had a great 7 days guided cycling around Girona with the Service Course. The bikes where great and we our guide Peter picked out routes that were perfect for us. We stayed across the street at the Hotel Nord 1901 which was very nice. and super convenient. The town is beautiful. Can't wait to go back.

Traveled from US and rented a Belle from The Service Course for 4 days of riding. Very easy to deal and communicate w weeks in advance including my measurements for proper fit. Showed up and the bike was ready, clean and sized properly. The Belle is a wonderful and light handmade steel bike from the region. If I were in the market for a new road bike I’d consider purchasing one. Cant say enough about their support and hospitality. To the guy who got my pedals off before the store opened thank you very much - I did not get your name!

Context: I was renting a bike and also bought a bunch of kit.

I wasn't sure whether to take my bike from the US or rent. I decided to rent from service course. They were very responsive and transparent throughout. First note, this is a place for the more serious rider who appreciates true quality so if you're looking for Brucey bargains you are not getting it here. That said, for the quality, the price is right.

The rental bikes are very well maintained and sexy. They ask for fit coordinates in advance so they can get the bike ready for you. I decided last minute to rent so turned up. The mechanic threw on a stem that was more appropriate for me which was great as I wasn't expecting changes like that. I came during a quiet time so if you arrive peak season on the weekend you may not get as speedy service as I got.

When we asked for routes we got a Wahoo Element that came with the rental which was awesome. I prefer Garmin but the Element was preloaded with local routes which saves a TON of time! Also got a spare tube, pump, multitool and two sexy water bottles.

They offer a number of services, massage, showers, general mechanic help, etc. My mate had an issue with his fork/headset which was fixed quickly (again, in low season). They also have a pump available inside.

The shop is extremely well manicured with the showers modelled from Paris Roubaix and even the lighting was well thought out. The kit they have is all excellent quality. Even though it was great kit the price was cheaper than what I'd pay for poorer quality stuff in NYC.

I don't remember if they sell ride nutrition but I did buy 4 bottles of bicycle themed beer and confirm it is delicious.

Staff are all knowledgeable and between them probably speak most languages!

Honestly the only improvement I can think of is having a pump outside the store for when someone needs to pump their tires before the store opens (at 9am at time of writing) but if I'm going to be pure, doing that may cheapen the overall feeling of this magnificent store.

The owner, Chris Meier, is also affiliated (maybe owns) Espresso Mafia and La Fabrica. Both are among the only places in town that make a proper Cappucino. Fabrica is great for pre and post ride eats (I recommend the avocado/egg on toast and the Humble Vegetarian).

These guys and girls couldn’t be more helpful , especially Rasmus. Broke a SRAM AXS shifter and they got it fixed up with some spare parts they had which avoided a very expensive replacement they could have done and made a whole lot more money. Can’t thank you enough.

After having a terrible experience at Kilometer Cero in Port de Soller, it reminded me that I had a seamless, smooth, fantastic rental from the Service Course. We rented 2 bikes for 2 days and we’re treated with top notch bikes and top notch service.
