La Lleona

Highly recommended!! Don’t be put off by the look of this tiny little unassuming place. It’s all organic and the food is gorgeous as is the coffee. Service is great.

We enjoyed our dinner at this cute restaurant with a bit of hippy vibe so much that we went twice! Located in the old city very near the historic cathedral and basilica. Interesting, varied menu with both typical Spanish food including tapas and other offerings. One night, a delicious Uruguayan beef, another yummy Nepalese momos. Excellent grilled vegetables! Service was the best we had in Spain, very charming and friendly.

Stellar quaint restaurant. We ate there daily for a week in 2019 and back again in 2022. Food is superb. Very reasonable. 3 course meal with many options is €16.50. A bottle of wine is €8-12.

Excellent food and excellent value. Such kind servers as well. Can’t recommend it enough. The daily menu is so diverse. If we were staying longer, we would return.

I loved spending time in Girona. The flowers and the history of the gorgeous Girona and its people were amazing. I fell in love with Spain and came home with wonderful memories of a country filled with amazing stories.

Copy of the original XII century, kept at the ART Museum, the Lleona represents a lioness perched on a column, turned head and twisted tail ... The tradition is that to be a good Geron, where if the we come from elsewhere, like me from Belgium, you have to touch or kiss the posterior .... it had frozen this morning .... the microbes were dead ... and the legend says that if you do not do not, we will not return to Girona .... I was the only one of the group to do it .... and I have a great desire to come back .....

La tradición es que ser un buen Geron, donde si el venimos de otros lugares, como yo de Bélgica, tienes que tocar o besar el trasero ... se había congelado esta mañana ... los microbios estaban muertos ... y la leyenda dice que si no lo haces no, no volveremos a Girona ... Fui el único del grupo que lo hizo ... y tengo muchas ganas de volver ...

Famous local monument. There is a legend, that, to return one more time to Girona you should kiss a butt of Lleona (Lioness). There are even special stairs near the monument!

This place has amazing food. We went here in 2019 and found it again.

The most delicious icecream made on site and the young ladies on the counter couldn't be more helpful and endering
