Has the basque menu and was blown away by the food itself and the presentation. This was a totally amazing experience from start to finish, staff was friendly and on the spot for any questions. The wine pairing also top. Will definitely be back!

Our tour group had the private dining room. 2 shrimps of 3 were not fresh (mush texture), the squid can be better (a little mush). Other dishes were very good. Wines were very good.

We visited for our wedding anniversary and tried the tasting menu. We had high expectations and the restaurant did not disappoint. Every course was delicious and there was fantastic theatre with some of them too. We also chose the paired wines which was a super selection of wines from the region. The staff were amazing and seeing the chef was an added bonus. It was a wonderful experience for us.

One of the most amazing dining experiences in Bilbao. Highly recommend reserving a table at this amazing restaurant. My wife and I went for our anniversary and I got the voucher for the menú de degustación from their website. For 85€ per person we were introduced to 12 of their most famous dishes and couldn’t have been happier. Everything from the quality of the ingredients, service, and atmosphere made it obvious that it was a Michelin star restaurant for a reason. If you are visiting Bilbao or will be in the area this place is a must try, but reserve with time.

Came here for a nice dinner and they delivered. The food is not too complicated, but really tasty and not many places have the same quality. Waiters are very helpful, also in English and there are always some dishes outside of the card. When you're in Bilbao and want to treat yourself, this is definitely something to try

We had dinner,two couples ,few day ago,and I can tell that this is one of the best restaurant I have ever been.
Food was really good,prices of wine and food are really responsible,you can choose between menu’s or a la carte.food is innovative and delicious
Only thing that I didn’t like is when we finish with dinner and go out from the restaurant is that nobody says hello or goodbye .Also when we came we put jacket on the shelf alone without host
In that kind of restaurant I think that this is a very important thing .

Very easygoing and casual dining experience. Loved the fact that I can bring my kid to enjoy Michelin star level food. The tomato soup and the thinly sliced grilled squid are to die for. Most of the servers spoke English and greeted us with warmth. Will definitely come again.

This is a fantastic restaurant, really fun and all the dishes stands out. Different from most fine dining set menu restaurants, the pace of the meal is really nice. Every dish is unique, original and memorable. The team is also most warm and welcoming. Highly recommended when in Bilbao! Muchas Gracias.

This establishment truly distinguishes itself from other Michelin-starred venues I’ve patronized! It offers a layered experience that might seem complex, yet it’s genuinely groundbreaking with the upcoming dish being projected onto the wall or table just before it’s served.
The dessert is a tripartite affair that includes an excursion into the Metaverse. Initially doubtful, I found the explanation compelling as we observed violets within the Metaverse, followed by savoring the violet-infused dessert while blindfolded for 20 seconds!
The chef’s presence is constant, and he personally prepares several courses at the table. Every dish was exceptional, with the squid being the most succulent and delicately crispy I’ve ever enjoyed! And the mousse—warm on the inside, icy on the outside, nestled on a spice bed—was simply astonishing.
The wine selection is remarkable, featuring rarities priced between 35 to 1500 EUR. The retail markup is quite reasonable, and the pairing suggestions were spot-on.
Entry requires a bell ring, concealing the interior from view, yet upon entry, a wondrous space is revealed!
Do note that adjacent to this gem is a separate eatery, and some images, such as the beef tagliata, are from that location.

Was thinking to go try their Atelier tasting menu but somehow felt like first trying their more casual “la despensa” before splurging on atelier. Ended up being one of the best meals I have ever had: amazing ingredients cooked marvelously. Staff super attentive and owner was around checking on all guests. Will definitely go back!

I have just visited for dinner with my wife and I can honestly say it was one of the best meals we have experienced. Even though it was a quiet evening the food and service was fantastic, especially with the owner coming out to serve and explain a few of the dishes and really deliver a show! My wife is pregnant and they worked around that to provide an unforgettable experience. The highlights were the anchovy lasagne, the wagyu steak and the desert. For someone who doesn't have a sweetooth, it was amazing. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Bilbao who is after a culinary adventure.

An absolutely stunning meal at possibly one of Bilbao’s finest restaurant alongside a number of restaurants in Spain we have had. The finishing touches by the chef himself on the tuna and the dessert was such an experience. Tried the Alion 2018 and it went perfectly with the tuna. Highly recommend!

We were greeted by Chef Fernando Canales at the entrance, which was very appreciated. He also came to our desk a few times for the final touches of the dishes.

The service was very attentive, without being cold. My favourite dish was Ajoblanco de trufa, it was exquisite. The ice cider was also a nice surprise, it reminded me of Canadian ice wines.

Best Michelin experience I've had so far. The wait staff was impeccable. The food was incredibly tasty, and we got to chat with the owners and chef for a bit. The dessert experience was UNREAL! Highly recommended.

We visited for dinner looking to try some Basque cuisine. We settled on the Basque Roots tasting menu. When I say we had an amazing experience, i am not exaggerating. It was absolutely MARVELOUS.

Everything was delicious, fresh, innovative and just spectacular. The service was extremely attentive and friendly, but still laid back and unpretentious. This was an absolute highlight for us.

Our last dinner in Spain. It was wonderful and memorable. The jamon was sliced to order by a very skilled staff member. The octopus, scallops, and steak (all of which we shared) were all perfectly cooked and delicious. Yogurt ice cream is made fresh daily and was the perfect end to the meal. Reservations are a must!

Interior: simple, tasty interior with just some minor (irrelevant) flaws: i would put one table less to keep it less cluttered and the toilet paper shouldn’t be so thin.
The use of technology gives it interesting and modern touch.

Service: very friendly and knowledgable. Smiling throughout. We felt welcomed and well taken care of.

Food: just absolutely amazing. Each dish was so flavourful and nicely presented. Couple of dishes were finished by the chef at the table which added to the experience. The menu was very heavy on fish, but we were very happy with that (also we knew about it before coming obviously).

Wine: we chose the wine pairing and couldn’t be happier. Discovered some new wines with some unexpected flavours, tastes. Very good choice to each dish and it was plentiful.

We felt that the value for money was excellent and can definitely recommend this experience.

Wonderful experience at the Atelier Etxanobe (1 Michelin star restaurant), NOT to confuse with the Etxanobe La Despensa, that is the next restaurant door and offering a different menu.
We spent 3h there that past like a flash! We selected the Atelier Menu composed of 12 dishes compared to the Atelier Plus that has 14 dishes. We enjoyed very original, delicious and attractive dishes that were pretty much all based on fishes and sea foods. Surprisingly, even through I am not a fish person, I very much enjoyed every dish!
The region is not famous for its red wines so we went for a local white dry wine that was excellent.
The restaurant also distinguish itself by a few features such as the video projection of the menu as your dishes come, the show with 3D goggles, and most importantly the very friendly chef that comes to your table to prepare the tuna and the nitrogen dessert.
All of that for about €145 per person that was a superb experience.
