Plaza Nueva

An over hyped place to indulge in Pintxos. Many tours rotate around this square spoiling the ambience. Over priced drink and food. Interesting to see the old city square with it's traditional shop fronts. Shame it's now a tourist trap for visiting Spaniards and overseas visitors.
However, a must see highlight of the old city.

Nice place to eat or drink while in Bilbao. Plenty of restaurants and bars to explore.

This place is busy! So be sure to go with the right attitude to deal with lots of people. There are adorable children playing soccer and cute dogs everywhere. The food variety and quality depends on which place you choose. They are all generally fine. Try to snag a table while your companions go for food.

Lots of fun, lots of pintxos options, everyone is there on a Saturday; grandma, couples, kids.

Great place to eat pintxos (tapas) gets very busy so depends whether your happy to stand and eat and choose different tapas or there are also restaurants you can sit down around the plaza. Be aware they are strict on times and serving food so leave with time. Real sense of Bilbao and great atmosphere. Excellent area to eat lunch or dinner.

You must visit victor montes, restaurant/ pinxto are superb, do book for the evening the food is well presented, tasty and authentic. Try the local Atlantic wines. You'll not be disappointed with the food, experience or service. Staff are excellent under tremendous pressure. Highly recommended to you

Wonderful, atmospheric place for a drink, food or to just people watch. Didn't visit all the bars but also didn't visit a bad one.

Just ease in…and perfect for a bite.
Do not expect to have a nice table but enjoy a high table and the dynamics. Kids play soccer in the square.

It's a must when visit Bilbao. There lie a good number of bars to try local wine and pixtos.

Beautiful and charming square with many restaurants, a great place to sit down or stand with a glass of wine and some pintxos, the biggest problem will be which place to choose so maybe try a couple.

This area is vibrant! Surrounded by pintxo bars it has a great energy. So much fun.

A beautiful square full of excellent restaurants and tapas bars in the heart of the old town.

I loved the fact that the whole plaza is a huge bench so you can rest and enjoy the view
