Catalonia Gran Vía Bilbao

We spent 3 nights here last week having spent 4 nights in San Sebastian. This is one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in.
Check in was very relaxed and efficient, and as our room wasn't quite ready we are offered a drink at the bar.

As we were celebrating our 25th Wedding Anniversary we treated ourselves to a Junior Suite, what a room! The bed was as wide as it was long and the shower was huge with a massive rain fall shower head.

Breakfast was as good as it gets and had everything you would need, including cava for breakfast!

Location wise, you cant do better, 5 minute walk from the bus station, and the bus to/from the airport stops 20 meters away.

Would definitely stay again if we went back to Bilbao. That's highly likely as it is a fantastic city.

Really enjoyed our stay at this hotel.

We had a deluxe double with terrace. The bed was large, terrace too with a motorised awning.

Lovely bathroom, well equipped with toiletries, and good powerful warm shower.

Staff were helpful and attentive. Large outdoor sunny terrace, perfect for bar drinks and snacks.

Hotel is in a great location with lots of bars and restaurants within walking distance. Good location for bus station.

We’ve stayed here twice now and we will definitely be back. As all the other reviews mention, the location is really perfect, you have on street and private parking options available, a number of restaurants within walking distance, all of the staff are polite and helpful. The rooms are very comfortable and well maintained. The bathrooms are luxurious. The minibar is well equipped. The bed is comfortable. Pets are welcome which is perfect for us. This is our go to hotel in Bilbao.

Solid hotel in the city center of Bilbao. The location is particularly good if you want to visit the Guggenheim. The room was spacious and had a nice terrace. It also had very nice amenities. It deserves 5*s for the iron and ironing board alone. Most hotels in Europe do not even have one in the room and particularly a decent one. Well done! We would definitely stay here again.
The parkade is rather small, narrow and relatively expensive but at least they offer this option.

Such a spectacular Hotel! Not to miss breakfast, the bedrooms and facilities are modern, practical and stylish.
The room with bath and balcony are remarkably cleaned on a daily basis and extremely comfortable. They took care of every single detail!

The breakfast crew is attentive, dedicated and hardworking same as the personnel at the front desk.

This Hotel is definitely a place I will recommend and would love to come back!

Really great hotel, all the staff extremely friendly, good English which is always helpful! Room was clean and spacious. Didn’t eat there so I can’t speak for that, but by the hotels standards I’m sure it would’ve been great. Just a good 10 minute walk to the old town, and 5 minutes to the Guggenheim.

Excellent hotel. Great staff. Excellent room and facilities. Fantastic breakfast. Wonderful location for Guggenheim or metro to beaches and other sites. Walkable to the old town. Special thanks to Alex on reception who sorted out an issue for us ( muchos grathias!)

Fantastic service. When I had left the hotel and walking to railwaystation an employee recognized me, en route, while she was on her way to work. She turned back, called the reception, connected me to receptionist with her phone and finally guided me all the way to the correct platform. I want to thank her and the hotel service for really friendly and unprecedented great service attitude.

Fabulous hotel, super modern, really comfortable. Great underground parking and fantastic staff. Huge thank you to Mehdi for the perfect arrival at this great hotel. Now my first choice for all future monthly visits to Bilbao.

Still just as amazing!

Very cozy place, personal also very respectful and polite, i like also how they are cleaning and taking care with dishes in bar. Would be better if you have in bar more beers from tap, Franziskaner will be good choice. Best.

Perfect location close to the city center and also bus station to the airport is nearby. Really kind staff and wonderful breakfast. Room was super nice and clean with all necessary thing what you need (toothbrush etc). Hope we will back there soon.

Really enjoyed this hotel. We had a deluxe terrace junior suite and the terrace and room were huge! Location was great and staff were very helpful and nice. Definitely recommend.

As I arrived at the conference room of this particular hotel, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement in the air. Maybe it was the buzz of anticipation, or maybe it was just the lingering aroma of fresh coffee, but something told me that this was going to be a good day.

Upon entering the room, I was immediately struck by the sleek and modern decor. It was clear that the hotel had put a lot of thought and effort into creating a space that was both functional and stylish.

But what really impressed me was the staff. From the moment I walked in, they were top-notch, offering a warm greeting and a genuine willingness to help in any way they could. And let me tell you, in the hospitality industry, that kind of attitude is worth its weight in gold.

Over the course of the day, I had the opportunity to observe the staff in action, and they never once faltered. They were always quick to respond, amenable to any requests, and eager to ensure that everything was running smoothly.

But perhaps what I appreciated most was their attention to detail. They always set up the rooms exactly as requested, with every detail accounted for. And as someone who has spent a fair amount of time in conference rooms, I can tell you that that level of precision is not always easy to come by.

All in all, I have to say that I was thoroughly impressed with this hotel and its conference room facilities. And as someone who has used their services for two years now, I can attest that their commitment to excellence has not waned in the slightest. If you're looking for a top-notch conference experience, look no further than this hotel.

Wow! Excellent. Beautiful hotel with spacious rooms. Our room had a double shower. The spa downstairs is €15 for 50 minutes of steam, sauna and a large hot tub.
Air conditioned. They have a pool upstairs as well. It is small but a nice place do sit upstairs.
The staff is excellent and they even brought us a welcome gift. Comfortable beds. Excellent place and the price is right.
We got an Airbnb and it was so stinky and gross, we left it and booked here last minute. The price was great.

Very nice! The pool on the roof is cute but very small, maybe half a meter deep, and there are only a handful of sunbeds. The rooms are fabulous and modern. I didn't book breakfast because it is very expensive.

The room was great and bartender Javier, was top notch he performed well under pressure and responded well to the foreigners request despite the language barriers !!!!

Fantastic hotel in a great location. My husband and I went for our honeymoon and we had a great time. The SPA is easily accessible and cheap to use. We went during term time so hotel was quiet and we had the SPA to ourselves which was also a relaxing bonus. Hotel room temperature was perfect and comfortable, no noise at all, cleaning staff were great and our room looked like new every time they had been. We had breakfast at the hotel twice and although on the more expensive side, you really do get what you pay for. We had lovely tasty coffee and an orange juice machine, basque cooked foods, pastries, bread of different kinds and they were super careful with my allergies. The gluten free bread they serve is delicious and comes out hot. I know where I will be staying next time!

We stayed at Catalonia Hotel Gran Via for 2 nights and loved it. Very nice hotel, friendly staff, perfect location and the parking garage was a big plus. We had a Premium double room facing the back of the hotel. Spacious and luxury room with a great shower. The hotel offered us a bottle of water every day. The breakfast was also very good. We would stay here again if we return to Bilbao!

Beautiful, modern rooms, and the best bathrooms I’ve ever had in a hotel! Seriously: great water pressure, deep soaking tub, heated towel rack, and all very clean and new-feeling. I should also mention the decent location, convenient parking below the hotel, gym, and the free drinks for Catalonia members as other highlights to my stay. I just wish the spa portion was open a bit later as I had hoped to experience it but didn’t have time in my schedule.
