Our two children have been in the school for almost 10 years now and we are very happy. All the school staff is kind, caring, our children are stimulated, they grow and they love going to school every morning. I see some negative reviews regarding staff turnover in the past years, it is true but it is like anywhere else, and the new staff members come prepared, they are energized and they integrate rapidly into the overall school's long term project. Actually some of the best teachers for my children joined school in the last 1-2 years. They bring fresh energy and new ideas.

The school's overall director as well as the elementary and middle school directors are available whenever you need them and they are very open to feedback. Like any parent, we faced some challenge with our children at some point of time and we felt really supported. I like the school's project and I fully trust the lead team. Thank you for all the hard work!

The only improvement, in my point of view is that school's values should be defined in a clearer way, visible for all children and put into practice at any moment of the day, in class and also in patio, in order to insist on the right behaviors which we want to encourage. But I know the lead team is working on it and work is on the way. Again, I trust them to reenforce this area soon.

I studied at BFIS from Grade 6 to 12 and all those years I was very happy there. I had amazing
teachers and counselors who supported me all the way, challenged me to give my best, and believed in me as a young person capable of achieving my dreams. After graduating, I was able to enter my first college choice and I am attending Medical school now at the University of Barcelona. Thank you BFIS for all those years of learning, support, joy, and friendships.

We are extremely happy with school and expect our children to graduate and be ready for life.
Sure, this school might not be for everyone and honestly I don't see the big deal.
If parents are not happy with school there are plenty of alternatives, nearby and cheaper.

My son has been enrolled at BFIS for five years now, starting in Nursery at the age of three and currently in second grade. What stands out to me about BFIS is the quality of its educational program based on the American curriculum, set within an impressively multicultural environment, diverse, and with English as the main language of instruction, enabling my son to speak it fluently.

The teacher-to-student ratio is exceptionally low, allowing his teachers to know him deeply and tailor his education. The dedication and commitment of the faculty towards their students is remarkable, fostering their critical spirit, motivating them, posing challenges, and fostering their curiosity for learning.

Additionally to being an American school, BFIS also offers the "Diploma Programme" of the "International Baccalaureate" (IB DP) in 11th and 12th grade, and is currently in the process of also offering the "Middle Years Programme" of the "International Baccalaureate" (IB MYP). The combination of all the above makes BFIS a unique and outstanding American school that provides a comprehensive and internationally recognized education, catering to the diverse academic needs and cultural backgrounds of its students.

I come from a family with a long tradition in education, where teaching and learning have always been fundamental pillars. I am convinced that there is no better educational option in Barcelona than BFIS.

Our 2 children have been at BFIS for 3 years and we couldn't be more satisfied with our choice for their school. The kids absolutely love BFIS and we see them thriving daily. They go to school excited, happy, and ready to learn. Committed teachers and small class sizes allow the teachers to support the kids' individual needs. The forest school is a wonderful addition to the existing program and a great compliment to IB and IB-MYP. The school has wonderful diversity with students and families from all over the world, the kids have great friends, and the parent community is very involved. The school is making great strides in all the right areas; we're so happy to have our kids at BFIS!

I really like the faculty and leadership at this school. When our child had a health issue last year, the school bent over backwards to ensure our child was able to stay up to speed on their homework. When our child returned to school this year, the teachers and counselor were so accommodating and flexible to meet our child’s needs, we were very grateful. The school tries to make decisions that are representative of the majority of the school which isn’t always popular but I strongly feel they are all doing the best based on information available. I can also rate the teachers high as well. When we go to parent teacher conferences it is obvious they really know our child.

Our kids are at BFIS, and we have been in this warm community since 7 years. The helpful and responsive way of welcome by the local and international parents and PTA made the biggest difference upon arrival to a new city.
The dedicated educators at BFIS inspire their students and ensure that they not only achieve academic success but also develop critical thinking skills, creativity, and a global vision.
The cultural exchange and exposure that children receive here are invaluable. The school fosters a deep appreciation for different backgrounds. We wholeheartedly recommend BFIS to any parent seeking a good educational experience for their child.

BFIS its not just a School. It has been home for our 2 kids and also for us parents. After 6 years I can say the best thing the school has is their teachers and the strong community of parents which is rare to find anywhere else. I'm happy the school has been updating, improving and changing to adapt itself to the rapidly changing world focusing on what is important to prepare our kids for the future. My kids are very happy and learning in ways that make me wish I could go back to school again.

We transferred our 2 boys to BFIS in the fall of 2020 and it was one of the best decisions we have made with regards to our children's educations. They are both happy and thriving, and that is in no small part due to the quality of the teachers and staff that dedicate so much of their time and energy to the school. I've watched both my kids evolve into conscientious students with curious minds that will serve them the rest of their lives. And it goes beyond education - they are also learning the value of being respectful, fair and kind. The leadership of the school should be commended for constantly seeking ways to further improve the educational experiences of the students and prioritizing the needs of the whole community.

What an amazing school. Our kids just joined from another local school and the pre-start buddy program was amazing and my three kids are so happy already. The head of school updates this week made multiple aspects of the school transparent from the wonderful matriculations to parent survey, university and IB results. There was even a coffee with food this Friday where parents could mingle with other parents, with the board, and administrators at drop off. Apparently, this is weekly. This is by far the most professional school I have experienced as we've moved across the continent.

My kids started at BFIS in September 2019 and there has not been one day that they did not wanted to go to school. The leadership team is doing a great job. It is not easy to make tuff decisions but I know as they are parents at the school as well that they only take these decisions to improve the learning of our children. Your children going happy to school and having good notes is all a parent can wish for.

The staff, the teachers, the leadership and the community are a great fit for our family and our needs. It’s a diverse, dynamic, international and progressive setting that employs state of the art and nuanced learning methods. Our kids are thriving and happy at this school and we as parents feel proud to be part of the BFIS community.

Our daughter started at BFIS in September 2019 in kinder, and we're very happy with the school. It's a genuine, warm community where the kids feel nurtured -- but also challenged and pushed to excel, both academically and socially. Our daughter is thriving, and that's all we can ask for.

I love the school. I had two daughters studying at BFIS. My eldest graduated from BFIS and she is studying Medicine at the UB. My daughters thrived here. My youngest is still studying at BFIS and she loves the school. The curriculum is rigourous with an inquiry-based learning approach. Good teachers. The learning support team, including the counselors and the Enrichment program is fantastic. International community. I love BFIS.

My son loves this school. This will be his second year at BFIS and he is looking forward to it. BFIS has rekindled his love for learning. Many thanks to the leadership, staff and the whole BFIS community for building such a caring learning environment for kids. A parent cannot ask for more.

Absolutely love this school. We enrolled our son in seventh grade last year, coming from a big public school in the US, and he has thrived. Every morning he is happy to go to school, which is a real shift! The pace of learning is good, the atmosphere is friendly and relaxed, and he has made plenty of friends. There was a decision recently to phase out the French foreign language program that has rubbed some parents the wrong way, if you were wondering about all the one-star reviews. Seems like a tough but reasonable choice to me, given that there's only about 20 students taking French across all the grades, but a small group of parents has gotten VERY worked up over it and are smearing the school over it in irate negative reviews. I guess everyone is entitled to their opinions, but the comments about the director being arrogant are way out of line and actually laughable if you know her. Really sweet, warm woman who believes in this school and is working hard to balance all the different needs and interests. Some people just like to pick fights and make up villains I guess. imo if they're that mad and hate her so much they should find a different school, most parents are very happy with BFIS.

A wonderful school with outstanding teachers who teach children to think, foster well-rounded development, and create a sense of one big family. Excellent education, diverse extracurricular activities, and quality in every aspect. Ungrateful, conflict-prone individuals who use the internet as a means to project their internal negative qualities onto the outside world are a scourge of our time. This school excels in many areas

Our three boys were high school age when we moved to BFIS. It was important for us to select a school with a strong IB program. Fortunately, we made the right choice. BFIS has a top notch college counselor and IB Coordinator. The consistent IB scores speak for themselves. Our two sons were accepted to their top US college choice. Very grateful. Keep up the good work BFIS!

We love BFIS. We moved to Barcelona from abroad with our two young kids in elementary school. As parents we have been ABSOLUTELY IN LOVE with BFIS, the care and dedication of the teachers, the kindness of their classmates, and the love for school that they've developed. From day 1, its been a school where everyone knows and looks after your children and their wellbeing and development from staff, to teachers, to students in upper grades.

As parents we feel and can see that our children are learning and making exceptional progress and the overall experience at the school has been literally magical from day 1. The parents and overall school community are also very involved and close knit. The American educational values are clear as is the international/ globally minded orientation of the school.

Best of all, the school is undergoing an amazing transition with facilities and programs for kids--just last week we found out that the IB curriculum/ program for middle school students will now be introduced to compliment the high school IB program. Couldn't be more happy with the current school and even more excited about the future my kids will have in the school. Onward, BFIS.
