We visited Bodegas Calvente, a family owned and operated winery , twice during our stay in southern Spain with two different friend groups. Every one agreed this was the most informative wine tasting in their experience .
I personally enjoyed all their wines and loved the tasting experience. They take pride in their wine production and it shows in the quality of wine .
The wine tour is at their production facility, because their grape plots are in high altitudes due to southern Spain warm weather .

Very interesting and authentic visit to a local producer of wine in the mountains of Spain. Perfect tasting with sparkling, white and red where the history of each wine was presented with passion. Highly recommended.

We did a wine tour with a wine tasting for 25 people at Bodegas Calvente as an activity for our wedding guests and had a wonderful time! They explained the wine making process in detail and let us taste 5 wines with some meat and cheese tapas. The wines were delicious! We ended up buying a bunch of bottles for our rehearsal dinner. Definitely recommend if you're in the area!

A visit to Bodegas Calvente is highly recommended. Although the Bodega itself is not pretty in the middle of the small Spanish town of Jete, the vines are incredibly good, and the tour is well organized and conducted. Don’t miss this if you are in the area. These mountain vines are really worth the trip.

A discreet little street and entrance to the Calvente business/home turned into a wonderful time for our group of 6. Judith took the time, pride and energy to describe their winemaking process and experience. Truly an inspiring family story and makes me appreciate every bottle we open even more from now on. A unique and personalized experience that is a rare find these days. Thank you!

Last Monday visited Bodegas calvente to buy a box guindalera mountain wine, in my opinion one of the best dry muscat de Alexandria wines you can buy, I highly recommend it. At the Bodegas i saw they had just bottled their 2023 rose wine, made of petit verdot and this year they added pinot noir to it, I bought one bottle to try at home and was flabbergasted by its quality, for me the best Spanish rose wine I ever tasted and I have tasted a lot from Cigales, Rioja, Navarra etc. Unbeatable QPR! We visited Bodegas Calvente to choose wines for our wedding, the tasting session was great and we had the wines delivered a few days before the wedding. Their olive oil is also extremely tasty! Thank you Judith and all the staff at Calvente

Unbelievable wines! Amazing winery. We really enjoyed these wines, specially the rose (Petit Verdot) and white.

Judiht is a wonderful guide who enthusiastically explains the farm's interesting history and the different varieties of wine.
My favorite wines so far are Calvente and Guindalera.

We have with great pleasure visited Calvente Winery for wine tasting, together with our family and friends several times. Their wine is fantastic and even listed in the book "The 1001 Wines You must taste before you die" by Neil Beckett ... !
The tours are very educational as they explain the processes used for their different wines, - and always a very personal experience - The best wine tastings ever!

The story of a humble family who decided to go pro on wine production after getting good feedback from friends and neighbours.

Such a moving story but also, very surprising to see them thrive and manage to make several wines -in a traditionally non wine region- that taste really good and put up a good fight (both in quality and in price) to the Spanish northern heavyweights. White Calvente and Castillejo were my favourites with Lovelia a close third.

You'll find comments below giving bad ratings to them, such a pity that people can randomly post nonsense and get away with it. Just to be clear: this a small production cellar and the vineyards are not part of the visit as they are numerous and spread out around the Granada region, in some cases quite far from Jete.

I went with friends to do the tour and wine tasting and I found the whole experience worthwhile. Judith was an superb host and a promising entrepreneur that will surely take the Calvente brand to new heights.

Worth noting that they prepare lunches and dinners as well, as long as you book well in advance and agree on the menu and price.

I wish you the best and hope to come back many many times when visiting Almuñécar.

Je suis l’aventure de cette bodega depuis son ouverture! La qualité et le développement sont constant. Il y a une recherche d’excellence qui se ressent! Chaque passage en Andalousie me permet de gouter a ce moment attendu depuis mon depart de Bruxelles! Les deux cuvées effervescentes Rania brut nature sont parfaitement maîtrisées avec un vieillissement long sur latte… un amateur de champagne éclairé sera heureux par ces deux cuvées brut nature tres aromatiques. Un must. Une tres grande fraicheur et un positionnement comme vin de montagne. Viva la bodega Calvente

Nos encantó la experiencia La bodega está en medio del pueblo y puede que no sea tan espectacular como otras pero la visita merece la pena. De la nuestra se encargó la fundadora de la bodega y fue un lujo conocer los entresijos del negocio, sus comienzos y sus planes de futuro. La visita al final duró casi el doble de lo previsto! Como detalle, creo que significativo, una persona del grupo al final no pudo probar los vinos, pero sí la comida, y no le quisieron cobrar nada. Seguro que volveremos!

Realizamos una visita en familia a la bodega, y fue muy agradable. Ya habíamos acudido con antelación, y decidimos repetir por la buena experiencia.

La bodega es pequeña, muy familiar. Judiht nos atendió perfectamente y respondió a nuestras preguntas. Catamos cinco vinos sin ninguna prisa, que permiten tener una visión amplia de la bodega. Quizás echamos en falta algo más de picoteo para tanto vino. En nuestro caso, no nos importaría pagar algo más si añaden algo más de comida.

La bodega con más producción de la denominacion de origen "Granada". Su vino blanco calvente es uno de los mejores blancos de la región con diferencia. Y hay que probar la reserva " Castillejo".

Una visita guiada fantástica, explicando con todo lujo de detalles cada proceso de elaboración de los magníficos caldos que salen de esta bodega.

La mejor bodega sin duda de España, sus vinos un lujo y la chica que atiende las catas es una gran anfitriona, riquisimo el embutido, muchas gracias por vuestra atencion y amabilidad. Un 11 sobre 10. Por supuesto nos agenciamos unas cuantas botellas para el viaje. Rico el vino no, lo siguiente.... Los ecológicos un gran acierto, pero el blanco ya una delicia. Uno de los recuerdos inolvidables de la costa granadina.
