2 free museums, clean, helpful staff. If you love paintings, sculptures and photography, this is the place to visit. Has a cafeteria that serves great food, worth a visit.

What a fantastic find and an enjoyable day out plus it was all free!! We loved this museum and art gallery experience.
We started by walking through the sculpture garden next to the carpark. This had replicas of famous statues we enjoyed naming.
We then were in awe of the massive head sculpture we saw outside the museum. It was made from marble and we went down some stairs underneath the head to find out how it was made. This was so interesting as we watched a short subtitled video on its conception and how it was created. Models are also in this room explaining its build so you do not have to read the Spanish explanations if you cannot speak Spanish.
We then went into the museum and looked at the photographs which were amazing as they gave us a snapshot of lives over the decades in the 1900s. The subject matters were so diverse from photos of bikini clad body parts to poverty stricken family photos to name but two. We both said we needed to come again to spend more time studying these photograph exhibitions. We saw marble sculpture displays in here and some wonderful paintings and etchings.
We saved the best until last however when we walked through a beautiful garden to enter the Ibanez art gallery. His paintings and skill are undeniable. His subject matter and views portrayed through his art was so interesting. There are explanations of his paintings in English which made the interpretation easier for us.
We had a coffee from the pristine coffee shop which also served meals but it was advised that you make a reservation if you wanted to eat inside as the tables were reserved.
Everyone who worked in this establishment was extremely friendly and helpful. I recommend this place as an enjoyable outing.

Wow what a gem of a place! It's taken us 4 years to get around to visiting but we'll be back very soon. The young man on reception was very friendly and welcoming. Amazingly there is no entrance fee and I now have a new favourite artist 😊

Great museum where you don't expect it. In one building there are mainly paintings, many by Andrés García Ibáñez. In a second building there are mainly photos by Carlos Pérez Siquier, but also paintings and sculptures.
We were the only visitors, which was very pleasant for us, but a pity for this great museum.
If you're in the area, go and have a look - free entrance!

Really enjoyed visiting this Museum. Its free to enter and has some very interesting art. There is another Museum next door which concentrates on the marble of the area. Sadly we finished our visit at 2pm when the Museums close for the afternoon so we were unable to visit the second one. A trip for another day

Olula del Rio's hidden gem. For a town of less than 7,000, Olula del Rio is certainly fortunate to boast a world class modern art gallery and it's well worth a visit. The Museo Casa Ibáñez is named after Olula del Rio resident Andrés García Ibáñez, naturally it features many of his works but there are also works by other artists including a room dedicated to etchings by Goya and a variety of local artists such as Antonio López, Ginés Parra, Jesús de Perceval and many more. The gallery has 17 rooms and almost all artworks are labelled both in English and Spanish. Entry is FREE! Guided tours are available by prior notice at a cost of €2 per person with a minimum of €24 per tour (e.g. €12 each for 2 people, €2 each for 12 people). But wait there's more, right next door is the Centro Pérez Siquier gallery of photography - we're saving that one for our next visit.

As other people have mentioned, this is a real gem of a museum and l will be definitely visiting again. I cannot believe I’ve taken so long to visit this museum as l live only 30 minutes away. The staff were very helpful. Well done.

Dedicated to a universal iconoclast, this was the most enjoyable art exhibition I can recall seeing in a very long time. It was a bit inconvenient that they close for a long siesta, but once we got in, I thought the wait was well worthwhile.

One of the best galleries I have visited with a diverse collection of painting, photography and sculpture. It's a pleasure to walk around it and the staff are helpful and knowledgeable. Good to see that a restaurant is soon to be open at the front which will make it more of a destination.

An absolutely fabulous place! For just one euro entry, this is a must visit for anyone living or visiting the area. The paintings range from beautiful to macabre, with various statues, an exhibition of work by Goya and much more.

This museum was completely unexpected. It showcases a world-class art collection, but not in Paris or New York, but in a small village in the middle of Almanzora.

Ibañez social critique is very fascinating, and there is a Goya caprichos collection, including "The sleep of reason produces monsters/El sueño de la razón produce monstruos".

Moreover, entry is free and there are also english captions under most paintings.

A must-to-go place for everyone, local and tourists.
