Azulete Restaurante

One of the best foods I ate in Spain! Delicious ceviche de atun, gazpacho de ajo blanco and paella. I would have never expect that in such a small village you can eat such a delicious food!

This restaurant is a real jewel. The young team of Gabriel and Daniella are exceptionally talented creating really memorable and original food. Dinner on Saturday started with a superb white garlic almond soup with carpaccio of prawn and avocado - beautifully balanced. We also had the Tiradito - similar to a ceviche but with thinly sliced kumquats. Superb. Then the Mollejas de Cordero - lamb sweetbreads - very tasty.
For mains, the Paletilla de Cordero (lamb shank) was perfectly cooked with baked carrots.
The Pesca del Dia - like a Sea Bream with pureed potatoes and vegetables. Again... cooked to perfection.
We shared a desert of chocolate ganache.
For wine, we had their house Cava to start and a local red from Ronda - a blend of Cabernet and Syrah. Both excellent.
This restaurant is worth making a significant journey for - or to be one of the high points of a longer stay in Gaucin.

Absolutely gorgeous place, I highly recommend a visit.

The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated with a view to die for. Perched over the square in Gaucin and accessed from a small cobbled pedestrian street, it takes a bit of finding but well worth the effort.

The food was stunning, the wine also, and the service was top notch. We had a lovely chat with the chefs and the maitre d’ over lunch and nothing was too much trouble.

Go, enjoy it, don’t hesitate. 10/10!

Be sure to make reservations at this Gaucin restaurant so you don’t miss out on an artistically designed meal experience. These deliciously prepared dishes are just what you will be talking about during and after the dining event. Every dish is worthy of a photograph. Perhaps the portions seem small because the desire is to have more. Pair your choice with the excellent wine selection.

Had a phenomenal meal at Azulete while staying in Gaucìn. Everything was outstanding - the staff and service, the space, and of course the food! Their menu changes to match the season, but I have to give a particular shout out to the zucchini panna cotta, which is easily one of the best things I've ever put in my mouth.

The experience was PERFECT! Never before have I seen l seen such creativity from a restaurant, let alone one in the countryside! The starters were great, the main dishes were spectacular, and the desserts had an interesting variety of combinations.

A hidden gem in Gaucin with amazing food cooked by French Chef Gabriel with friendly, attentive service from Daniella who is from Colombia.
This gorgeous couple have created a wonderful restaurant in a cosy setting with beautifully presented gourmet food at a very reasonable price.

So happy to have chanced upon this place whilst staying in Gaucin. Really interesting selection of wines and the staff are knowledgeable and passionate about what they do. Each dish we ordered was so tasty and beautifully presented. It’s a wonderful departure from typical Andalusian mountain food and although more expensive, the quality and imagination make it great value for money compared to places on the coast or similar restaurants back in London, Paris etc.

Tucked in the pueblo blanco (white village) of Gaucin is Azulete, a charming restaurant wedged into the mountainside. You’ll have to walk up 7 mintues from the parking area on the main street below. This wee hike prepares you for the gem that is Azulete. Gabby the chef, Alexi the bartender/sommelier and server, and Dani, the dessert princess, form the team. Young, gorgeous, and intentional, their lovely greeting immediately makes you feel welcome. The menu is equally accessible and welcoming, just one page of curated options: starters, entrees, and dessert. My friend and I shared a wild bass carpaccio, a cold almond gazpacho dotted with rare tuna cubes topped with avocado puree, radish and (I think) green squash, a melt in your mouth hake with crispy skin, swimming in the purest saffron jus, ending with two desserts: a tangy, bright pineapple sorbet with fresh pineapple basil, mint and basil oil; and an almond ice cream with honey, bee pollen, and rosemary flowers. French artistry with locally sourced produce from the region lends the food an haute cuisine flair with down to earth, exquisitely fine taste. AND, the food is visually stunning. I can see Azulete New York, San Francisco, and Miami already. I’m just happy we got to experience the original! Alexandra Wright

Small restaurant with delicious food. Not only the taste! The dishes are colourful with fresh flowers and lovely details. We have had dinner twice during our Gaucin stay and both times it was fantastic.

First time here and was not disappointed. Food was amazing, a definite favourite and will be back here for sure!

A wonderful experience all around. Exciting and delicious combinations of flavors in beautifully presented dishes. Staff was genuinely friendly and helpful. The terrace was a lovely place to enjoy this memorable meal.

Exceptional eating experience. We loved the old restaurant and were hoping the new owners would maintain the standard. They have exceeded it, with some wonderful sophisticated and subtle flavors. Obviously prepared and presented with a love for food and with the knowledge and craft to create a great eating experience. Excellent.

An unbelievably beautiful and delicious lunch. A charming couple who run the restaurant, both of whom deliver a cool and relaxed ambience through the interiors and their personalities. An emphasis on organic and locally sourced food and wine… all of which were delightful. I’m a very picky and critical restaurant go-er… glad to say I only have positive words to say. A culinary triumph.
