Restaurante La Bodega del Bandolero

I'm not sure how many people would end up going to this town, as it's a very small town, and remote location in Spain, but if you find yourself closer by, I suggest you stop by this local restaurant and have a bite. The homemade authentic Spanish food is amazing. The atmosphere is great and the people are fantastic.

A lovely little restaurant. Very nice waiters - would recommend the tomato, pesto and anchovy salad and the passion fruit cheesecake. Busy but attentive staff. Nice dappled shaded area. Bike friendly.

We recommend visiting this restaurant. All was delicious. A waitress was friendly and we did not wait long. Deserves 5 stars without any doubts

Bandolero... the name that has a special meaning for those who ever participated in Bandolerita or 100 Miles Sierras del Bandolero...
There was an instant connection with the place due to it's name, the small and very cozy terrace and the first introduction by a mutual friend to Ivan, the chef at the restaurant and if I am not mistaken, the co-owner of the establishment.

After spending half of the day in the valley of Genal we returned to the restaurant. Of course I was half expecting to have a table at the terrace, wishful thinking :)) there will be another time for sure. So to those that are complaining bitterly about not being able to be attended or get a nice table - please do call well in advance because the experience is absolutely worth it!

If you are not in a rush, if you are prepared to spend a pleasant afternoon in a circle of friends or family, if you are prepared to be friendly and receptive, if you are open for new experiences and new contacts, you will not be disappointed.

I can only compare the experience of visiting Bandolero restaurant to your first trip to the mountains as a complete novice. If you have no clue how to behave, and instead of learning by observing and listening and simply relaxing and enjoying the experience, you tend to speak loud, shout for the friends ahead or behind you, complain that there is no wifi coverage, keep your eyes in your phone instead of taking in the beauty of the place, you will trip over, hurt yourself, will get tired too quick, thirsty too soon, and eventually hate the entire experience of being in the mountains and in nature in general.

Here I share some of the images that had enough impact on me to make me enjoy the table indoors rather than on the terrace and to be able to have fun with my friends whilst waiting some time for menus to arrive.

We were invited to experience some of the amazing culinary creations prepared for us by The Chef Ivan (without ever asking for it or even knowing they existed), we had an opportunity to chat with Ivan on variety of topics and being attended by Ivan personally as he was getting a bit of spare time later in the afternoon. An amazing experience that we will be sharing with others for a very long time.

Thank you Ivan and the team, and please remember to stay true to the essence of what you have created. It is simply Beautiful and Unique...

Great customer service and attention. The room was huge and super comfortable.

This is the first restaurant that welcomes you into Juzcar and it's a great way to start your tour. The waitress is very welcoming and warm, speaking both Spanish and English. I would strongly recommend the delicious cherry homemade lemonade, and the amazing tomato and walnut dish. Yum!

Very fresh and tasty food, big portions and friendly staff. 100% recommended.

Nos ha encantado todo lo que hemos probado. Es sorprendente encontrar un restaurante con semejanta calidad y forma de innovar en un pueblo de este tamaño. El cochinillo estaba buenisimo, el venado estilo Wellington tremendamente suave y jugoso, y potente de sabor, y los postres una delicia! La crema de castañas super original y la tarta de chocolate y naranja exquisita, una explosion de sabor. Tenia incluso purpurina comestible como decoracion por encima. Se nota que en la cocina saben lo que hacen y son innovadores y apasionados. Volveremos!

Pasamos por Juzcar de regreso de vacaciones. El pueblecito, muy curioso. A la hora de comer, nos regimos por las valoraciones de Google, y este restaurante lo ponían muy bien. UN ACIERTO TOTAL.
Una comida sorprendentemente exquisita, bien presentada y con un trato magnífico por parte de la camarera y el propio chef (este, sabe de cocina un montón, seguro).
Recomendable 200x100.

Si volviese a Júzcar comería ahí de nuevo. La terracita muy agradable. Los platos un puntito diferente que se agradece. Nos ha gustado mucho. Camarera agradable y amable, aunque supongo que si no te conocen no dan mucha conversación, pero tampoco es algo importante. De postre helado de higochumbo muy rico y original. Ah, y nuestro perro ha tenido su cuenco de agua.

Buena atención del personal. Espacio acogedor, menú variado y con producto de calidad. la mejor tarta de queso que he probado en mi vida. Muy recomendable.
En la actual visita hemos estado bien aunque había mucha más clientela al ser sábado. Comida muy bien elaborada.

Buen sitio, comida buenísima y buen trato. En la terraza hemos estado de lujo. El entrecot de maravilla y la presa con rebosado de castañas, de gourmet.
La tarta de la abuela pufff sin palabras

Lugar con encanto, muy coqueto y con una terraza agradable. Cocina elaborada y con platos curiosos. Las milhojas de calabacín y berenjena estaban espectaculares, las endibias muy ricas con un toque dulce. El pollo en pepitoria nos lo esperábamos de otro modo pero también muy rico. Compramos un pan de castañas artesano super bueno.
El personal encantador, a la niña le ofrecieron limonada pitufa que le encantó. Además nos regalaron unos limones de su propio limonero, gran detalle.
