Les Barques Can Joan

Set a few metres from the beach front, promenade, and fishing port at Les Cases d'Alcanar. This seafood restaurant was first class. The service was attentive but not over attentive. It was explained that everything shown on the menu was not necessarily available as it depended on what seafood was landed that morning.

Lovely atmosphere. Attentive staff. Delicious paella, rice was perfectly cooked, the flavour, the texture... great product. A pleasure for the senses. Homemade desserts were fantastic as well. We ll definitely come back and recommend Les Barques.

Great rices and octopus. Their large variety of rices makes it perfect to try new combinations and get surprised. Tried the antichoke and squid rice... Amazing! Same for their "Pulpo a la Gallega"! It's expensive though!

Straight forward cuisine, super fresh food excellent service and reasonable prices. Highly recommendable restaurant.

The place (in the middle of an authentic little fisherman village, it looks like an old Sicilian or Greek village) - The service (extremely polite and friendly) - The food (amazing fresh fish).

Hemos comido fenomenal. Para empezar unas picadas de las cuales recomiendo las navajas. Y el arroz le preguntamos a la camarera recomendaciones y finalmente elegimos un arroz con gamba roja el cual estaba espectacular. Volveremos!

Fuimos recomendados y recorrimos 150km aprox para comer en este restaurante. La comida, estupenda, Los camareros muy educados y grandes profesionales. Ha sido todo un descubrimiento. Por poner una pega, los postres no nos acabaron de gustar, el flan de café y el pastel de coco.
Por recomendar, diría que las almejas a la plancha, las ortigas y los mejillones impresionantes, con ese sabor a mar que enamora, pero el resto fue todo un espectáculo. Gracias!
