Occidental Bilbao

Great hotel. The staff is very friendly and professional and it plays a big part in making this hotel an amazing place. I loved the ambience of the lobby bar in the evening and how everybody is respectful in the swimming pool.

Great experience, friendly stuff, breakfast really delicious and the servers where amazing, specially Ana and Angel (the Venezuelan girl!), at the dinner I have to tell that the portions are not big for its price but was ok.

There’s just one thing that I didn’t liked at all, when I booked over phone the reservation dept told me that the gym is included for free but when I arrived they told me that I have to pay extra for it while when I’ve been in other barcelò never been the case.

This is a great hotel to stay in, 10 minutes walk from the city center , casco viejo. Amazing view from the city. the swimming pool makes it really interesting as there are no hotels in Bilbao city center with swimming pool. The food in the restaurant is just amazing and good prices/ quality.

a value for money accommodation, my superior room was more than comfy, the location was very convenient, less than 5 min walking distance from the metro station (this city has a super metro!!!), close to airport, to olddown, Guggenheim museum etc.
A Special mention to all the personnel for being so helpful and kind. Lest i forget my cordially thanks to Ms Genesis,Mr.Lander (front desk), Ms Ana Belen , Mr. David (baristas) and many other that i can't remember their names...

Very helpful friendly staff, good food with decent selection of hot and cold at breakfast, tea and coffee facilities in room. No conventional iron in the rooms but they have a steam thing that surprisingly works.

Nice hotel with friendly and helpful service. Above all, the hotel scores with a good location and transport links and no height restrictions for cars. Rooms are neatly furnished, clean. Been there twice and certainly not the last time. In addition, Bilbao is a great city you must visit in the Basque Country.

Standard mid-range chain hotel mainly serving bus tours and business travelers. There were no issues with comfort, quality or cleanliness.

The neighborhood is not touristy at all, and up a steep hill from the centre of Bilbao. It's an enjoyable but long stroll through a characterful suburb if you're up for the exercise. If not, Santuxu metro station is 2 minutes from the hotel. The area was lively and felt safe even later at night. I didn't get far speaking English around the area, including with the hotel reception staff, so you are definitely at an advantage if you know some Spanish/Basque.

The differentiating amenity is access to the Metropolitan gym below the hotel. It's an excellent, full-service upmarket gym with wellness which otherwise doesn't offer day passes. Hotel guests can buy passes from the hotel reception. Another unique highlight is the roof terrace overlooking the entire city (although it is admittedly not a particularly photogenic skyline).

The rooms are spacious and stylish, but have open-plan bathrooms which narrows down the type acquaintance you might want to share a room with.

The hotel is 14 min by car from the airport. There is a parking lot if you rent a car. The service is super nice and their friendly. We had the double room. Everything was so clean and the breakfast is amazing.

If you want to go on a sightseeing tour. The metro is 4 min. walking! We had a great time here.

Lovely hotel. Has a train station down the road that can bring you up and down the hill. We found the walk good. 10 mins from old town. Great breakfast. Very nice staff. Would recommend.

Beautiful hotel. The staff were so friendly & welcoming when we arrived & took the time to ask what we were interested in seeing & printed out some timetables & gave us some really useful info.
Dining room is large & a massive selection of items from the breakfast buffet X Really close to the metro station Santaxtu so easy access into the city

From the appeal of the lobby to the comfortable beds this hotel has left a positive memory in my trip across Spain. The pool was nice and sufficiently deep. The room might feel small for some but not all. The beds we're superior as they were quite comfortable. The showers are nice and the room feels clean and we'll maintained. The breakfast was also quite nice as it had a wide variety of options for one to choose and enjoy. The lobby and services were good as well overall a nice place to stay if you are looking to staying in or just passing by Bilbao.

Staff were an absolute delight...so friendly and happy and couldn't have done more for us.... particularly everyone at reception and David in the bar were so helpful and really made our stay a very enjoyable experience a massive thanks to you all. Super hotel would highly recommend. Thanks again all

Fantastic location adjacent to the metro, which we road into the main old town drinking/eating area. Good nightlife vibe. The hotel's bed featured an incredible matress that my wife still is craving. Nice view of the mountains from the room. Service was solid although we only really interacted with the front desk

Lovely hotel with amazing views towards the valley of Bilbao's river. Nice and very sophisticated design comfortable for families as well as for business trips. The food service and catering are just perfect, and the kindness of its staff is further than helpful. Highly recommended!

Very good hotel with great service. Rooms are comfortable and clean. They have multiple pillow options. Good breakfast buffet, something for everyone. Location is peaceful, about 30 minute walking distance from the center.

We spent two days here last week and really enjoyed this hotel.
nice bedrooms, nice lobby layout with dining room ,bar room and lounge area altogether. not expensive when compared to sister hotel Barcelo Costa Vasca in San Sebastian.City bus tour was lovely, Bilbao is a beautiful city but San Sebastian has the edge because it is on the sea front with long sandy beaches and great safe walking promenade .

I stayed for (3) weeks and had the felt welcomed and heading to my clean room and at the ready when needed were staff to lend helping hand.
I want to personally Thank the front desk, Lobby Bar and Maid staff for making my visit less hotel more home.

Very good hotel. Clean and large rooms and bathrooms. High quality beds. Quiet place during nigth and 15 minuts far, walking, from old town center (kasko viejo). Hotel car parking available. Fitness and relax equipments available, but not tested. 200m far from the next underground station.

Great Hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable and clean rooms and wonderful showers. Will use it everytime I have to go back to Bilbao.
