Absolutely stunning. Snow topped mountains, open clean air, sunshine. Great place to drive, amazing countryside. I went to take photographs of birds. I was not disappointed. I can recommend a visit.

A must see on the road to Madrid or Lisbon !!! The scenery is amazing, I enjoyed walking / hiking in the middle of wild life. Animals were all around me. Be discret and observe 😉

recommended to avoid it on really sunny on hot days, since the park doesn't have many big trees for shade.
the landscape is astonishigly beautiful and there are many paths you can follow around if you want to discober the park hiking

Amazing views of Griffin Vultures on the 'Rock'. Also a blue rock thrush and black storks. Definitely worth a visit.

Brilliant views and several walks (didn't do these as had a buggy but they may be doable). Lots of places to watch birds from.

Sublime place but you must take a guided tour first otherwise you won't know where to go to see the nests of birds like the Spanish Imperial Eagle or the Black Vulture.

Monfrague is a gem. Getting busy though, with a lot more tourists than 13 years ago (2010), when Villarreal De San Carlos was little more than a campsite & collection of ruined buildings in process of being restored. Now they have been (very well) restored, with visitor centre & facilities, it's a lot busier. Still a great area, though, especially for birding

Stunningly good area for birds in particular but other wildlife as well. Do go to Monfrague Castle and the smaller road to Portilla de Tietar. You will not be disappointed.

Wonderful National Park with Lakes, Rivers and spectacular scenery. Plenty of opportunities to get great pictures with your camera whatever your skill level. Good shots of many bird species are available if your patient. Great place to relax take in the scenery. Can be very hot in summer but a must if visiting nearby Plasencia. A spectacular view can be experienced at the Chapel Ermita de Montfrague.

A magnificent park due to its landscapes bathed by the Tietar and Tagus rivers and the richness of its fauna and flora.
A visit to the information centre is essential to enjoy the park and a visit with a guide (animal observations and/or hikes) is a real plus!
