I entered quite the hidden gem here in Madrid, it might just be my favourite restaurant ever. A true local haunt, where the vibe is as welcoming as catching up with long lost friends.

Walking in, you're immediately greeted with a sense of familiarity. The kind of familiarity that comes from a place that's been around for decades, where everyone knows each other's names, and the stories shared over crustaceans are the stuff of legend.

And let me tell you, the seafood is nothing short of divine. The kind of seafood that transports you to the shores of Galicia, where the salt in the air is almost tangible, and the sea breeze carries with it the unmistakable scent of fresh fish and lemon.

Now, I must admit, the seating arrangement caught me off guard. No seats? Instead, the owner placed me on a humble pew, a blue box, overlooking the street outside. But you know what? It just adds to the charm of the place. It's as if they've created a time warp, where tradition and modernity collide to form something truly special.

And i can’t forget about the banter that seemed to be occurring around me, I just wish I knew Spanish so I could join in. But even without understanding the language, the warmth and camaraderie of the patrons and staff is infectious.

All in all, this place has won my heart. It's the kind of spot that makes you feel like you've stumbled upon a secret society, a place where the only requirement for entry is a love of good food, good beer, and good company. A true hidden gem, and one that I'll definitely be returning to.

Always a favourite with mostly locals, not touristy. Amazingly fresh seafood, their boquerones with crisps are my favourite in town. Vermouth on tap is quite good too. Older, golden, staff who know their trade well. Much better prices and quality than the tourist traps in the city centre.

A bar for simply boiled exceptional fresh seafood, would go on a Wednesday or call to see when they get fresh fish, they are pretty honest about it, staff super friendly.

An absolute must go if you love seafood. Will come back for sure next time.

Only cold food but ie was great.

We had tapas here and wow!! The food is very good, and the service is friendly, helpful, and attentive. They really appreciate their customers here. The boquerones were superb, and a very good vermouth as well. Prices are very reasonable and the restaurant is nicely kept. We highly recommend this place.

Definite must to order the Centolla and the boquerones en vinagre. They also serve this Rose Cava, which paired perfectly during this hot summer.

Marisquería de las de toda la vida en pleno barrio de Salamanca, muy buena calidad de los productos con muy buen precio, así como la atención del servicio que es excepcional, los berberechos como las patatas fritas son únicos, tomar allí la aperitivo es un auténtico disfrute. Muy Recomendable.

Fantástico lugar para tomar unos dobles/cañas con un muy buen servicio. Tienen todo tipo de mariscos y varios montados de embutido. Genial para hacer un aperitivo o cenar.

Cada vez que paso por Madrid y el tiempo me lo permite, paso a disfrutar de la carta del Restaurante Marisquería el Cantábrico.
Es una marisquería clásica, con sabor el sabor castizo de su azulejos, sus mesas en un pequeño comedor y la barra.
A mi gusta comenzar con unos boquerones en vinagre con patatillas, sin duda los mejores de Madrid, luego una magnifica mojama con unas almendrillas fritas, y a partir de aquí disfrutar del marisco: percebes gallegos, ostras, nécoras, centollo o buey de extraordinariamente preparado, gambas, cigalas... Y todo con una cerveza muy bien tirada y una carta de vinos correcta.
El personal es atento y educado, y te atienden fenomenalmente.
Lo dicho, un lugar imprescindible en Madrid.

Bar de barrio de toda la vida, con camareros profesionales de esos que te cuentan algún chiste o chascarrillo. Gente profesional y amable. Tapas de marisquería de toda la vida. Recomendable para unas cañas con amigos.

Cervecería clásica se Madrid sigue estando exacta desde más de 30 que la conozco, su especialidad Mariscos cocidos, gambas cigalas langostinos centolla....todo fresco y de buenísima calidad!!!

Un clásico de Madrid. Servicio castizo y muy profesional. Producto de primera. Precios acordes al género y calidad ofrecida. Boquerones en vinagre deliciosos.

Cañas tirada a la perfecion en una marisquería clásica de Madrid muy buen genero y laterio gourmet con la esencia de un bar del siglo pasado del norte.
