Room Mate Mario Hotel

Room was very small but clean, as was the bathroom. The guy on reception was very helpful, swapping my room when I told him the aircon wasn't working. Location was great - a stone's throw from Plaza Mayor and even closer to the metro. Ideal for a 1 or 2 day stay

This hotel is nice. I especially like the location. This hotel is around the corner from the palace. Lots of restaurants, grocery store, public transportation, taxis, and tuktuk tour available within feet of this hotel. Rooms are modern, warm, and beds are comfy.

Great service. AND GREAT LOCATION. Very close to the opera metro station. You can walk to all the sights from here (plaza mayor/ callao/ solo/ palacio) and easily take the metro. Also, there is a Taxi stand close and it only costs 30 Euro (flat rate) to go to the airport, which is quite far. The rooms are comfortable, great service. Supermarket right next to the hotel

For us, it is always a pleasure to spend our getaways in Spain in one of Room Mate’s hotels. Room Mate Mario was the perfect choice in Madrid, close to everything we needed (subway, bars, restaurants, museums, etc.), especially that the stuff was super friendly and kind, helping us with any problem we had.

Just stayed here for 10 days and couldn't have been happier. The room was a good size (junior suite) and clean. The AC was excellent which was key in summer. It has a perfect location near sites and a metro station less than 5 minutes away. The staff were incredible from check in to check out. Highly recommended.

We only stay for one night, the receptionist was very kind, room was comfortable and they have continental breakfast for a very affordable price and was good

Stayed for over a week at Mario and it was awesome! Quiet…but centrally located, close to Metro, Shopping and all the best restaurants too! Room was clean….Breakfast was wholesome and special thanks to Mario staff….at the front office, restaurant as well as housekeeping….they were friendly, always helpful and took utmost care to make our Madrid trip memorable! Will stay at Mario again whenever I come to Madrid! Special thanks to Jose @ the Front Desk!

I stayed in a cozy twin room, heating was working properly, the room also was very quiet.
Many thanks to reception they were very welcoming and had many good suggestions for me.

Good hotel with friendly staff, overall clean building and nice environment. The location is great, near lots of sites and eateries and metro is right outside. Felt the prices were very fair, and they offer breakfast options if you are an early riser and nothing else is open. Quiet at night too, was able to sleep well.

Great location ( you can walk everywhere) room really nice and clean and staff was very kind (the gentlemen at the reception was so nice and let me grab something for breakfast a few minutes before 7 am because i had an early flight). Really recommend!

The hotel is really nice. The room wasn't very big, but the beds were comfortable. Clean and very friendly staff. But the best is that, you are only 50 metres from Opera metro station. So it is rather easy to go anywhere.

We had a great experience staying in this hotel! The room had exactly what we needed. And a small balcony overlooking Teatro Real. Variety in bathroom amenities. Daily room cleaning. Rich and quality breakfast! Excellent location close to Royal Palace and Opera metro station. The staff is very kind and helpful. More than a two-star hotel. Highly recommend. We had enjoyable stay here as service provided by reception was exceptional, they really looked after us. Room wasnt very big, but was enough and looked fresh. Window was facing internal yard, so no view and no sun, bare in mind there are quite few rooms like that, so if you want street view most probably you need to upgrade. Bathroom was good size and it was spotless clean. Breakfast didnt have huge variety, but quality was very decent including coffee. Location is superb as you right by opera and Palacio, 5 min walk to busy shopping street with famous churros place.

Excellent up front service. The hotel is a bit of a rabbit warren , with passage ways going in odd directions. The rooms are tiny, with little room to keep your belongings.

Absolutely loved staying at Room Mate Mario. The staff are very welcoming and nice. The room was spacious and clean and the bed was very comfortable. There's also a small balcony overlooking the street which was very charming.

I agree about the noise from the hallway. But I was so tired and overwhelmed after endless walking each day, that It didn't bother me at all. I am crazy about cleanliness and comfort, everything was great here. I didn't have any problems. It is a good place to stay for a short time and sleep. Design is cool and the bed was very comfy. 💛

Excellent breakfast with good coffee, fresh squeezed juice, lots of top-quality bread, cheese, ham, muffins, croissants, good scrambled eggs and much more. This is the breakfast you would put out if you loved your guests! Definitely pay the extra and get breakfast. Location is perfect. Just off the metro and a 15 minute or less walk from most of the major sights. Rooms are nice, bathrooms comfortable and clean, great beds. Soundproofing between the rooms and the halls is less than ideal, but everything else makes up for that. Will definitely stay here again.

Very good customer service! Front desk staff is always there to help. Feels welcoming and the rooms, although not very large in size, are comfortable, clean and quiet. The location, close to the Opera metro station, is central and one of my favourites!! Best vegan restaurant, Sanissimo, is just across the street from this hotel!!

Wonderful hotel. When you walk in the door a beautiful smell hits you. Stylishly decorated. Very friendly staff. Breakfast was great with a choice of many different foods. For a side street hotel the views were impressive and quaint. Our room was highly specced with all you would need.
Room Mate Mario made our honeymoon all the more special.
