Thanks a bunch for great hospitality! Very diligent and environmentally conscious volunteers. Hot water and warm room. Clean environment. Hot dinner and some breakfast items in donation spirit. Nuns singing no more but some singing together for blessing just before the dinner.
A well equipped kitchen but usage has some limitations

Very warm welcome from the nuns. Well stocked kitchen and lots of space to sit inside and outside. The nuns lead a sing-along time and blessed the pilgrims, highly recommend participating.

Perfect albergue run by the most loving and joyful nuns ever! You won’t regret staying here and I would definitely come back again in the future. Thanks a lot for your hospitality.

This albergue will be ever connected to my pilgrimage on the Camino de Santiago. This staff is living the spirit. From welcoming you to gatherings with all pilgrims, visiting the church mass to communal dinner, always with care and a smile. Highly, highly recommended.

The perfect spot to calm your soul. The hospitality of the sisters and volunteers is simply said, beautiful. Thank you for a very, very beautiful stay on 15.8.2023...the whole program, holy mass, blessing and the community dinner after was a wonderful, wonderful experience. We may see each other again, us as volunteers maybe☺❤

Top 3 Church/parroquial stays of my camino so far between St Jean and Leon!

8eur for a bed in the dormitory that was pretty packed, can sleep over 50 people. Shower (men) had hot water but was overflowing a bit and there is only one so there can be a queue.

Best bits that made it my top 3 favourite is the heartfelt music hour singing with the nuns around 18 (since everyone sing they prefer to call it music hour rather than "singing nuns") and the beautiful blessings of the pilgrims by 1930 in the church. The fully equipped kitchen and outdoor seating were excellent for social dining (self cooking no pilgrim's dinner).

Make sure to make a stop in a special place!

This was one of my favourite places on the whole Camino Francais. There was a little local market for fruit and veg on the square outside which looked to be largely locally grown on the Meseta. The team of young Nuns who were running the Santa Maria were just so wonderful. When we went to Mass next door in the 500+ year old church they sang like angels and actually made me cry at one point.
At the end of Mass the Father and the Nuns blessed our Caminos individually....I will never forget the young Nuns blessing as she touched my head....it felt like rain....pure nectar.
Earlier we had a communal session outside in the little garden where there was a guitar and singing.... each of us spoke about why we were on the Camino and what it meant to us. This was purely voluntary....to me it was what the Camino was/is all about.
Please don't miss out on staying at this place as its simply amazing!!!!!!
The communal meal I will remember always ....thank you to all at the Santa Maria.

The sisters were welcoming. They provided a wonderful time with mass, a prayer of blessing, and a time of music as well. The accommodations were nice and typical for an albergue. Also had a small potluck dinner. It was great!

Stayed at Santa Maria in June 2017 while walking the Camino, I have to say that Santa Maria was my favorite place I stayed while walking the Camino de Santiago. The religious sister there made you feel apart of their family. Very welcoming, very community oriented. I would highly suggest every person walking the Camino to stay here.

For the price, very good. Large kitchen. Good location. Nuns and volunteers were welcoming.

Escape through the garage door early am. The rest are locked ;)

Fair and cheep place for Pilgrims. It's a religiouse place but you are not forced to follow the preyers with the nuns. They are offering a shared dinner.
