Eco Hotel Doña Mayor

This is the best hotel experience I had while on the Camino Frances. The attention to detail, comfort, and friendliness of the staff were incredible. It’s the perfect place to treat yourself while on Camino.

I cannot say enough good things about this hotel. Laura (I think the owner) was so welcoming and patient (and her English is excellent). I has book a massage with Lidia because I heard so many good things about her, and since I’m doing the Camino - a massage is always nice. Unfortunately my retina was torn, and I had to cancel my massage and make an emergency trip to the hospital in Palencia. Lidia overheard my conversation and volunteered to drive me to Palencia and translate for me. She spent the four hours with me, driving me both ways and dealing with the hospital staff. Remarkable. As for the hotel, it’s spotless, beautiful and the breakfast was fantastic! Well done! What wonderfully, caring staff. I hope to return one day.

If you are leaving early in the Camino, the hotel will make you a take-away lunch.

I had the reflexology which was nice, just not as firm as I would have liked. I needed an actual foot and leg massage.

My wife and I stayed here after a long and wet walk from Castrojeriz on the Camino de Santiago. It was like an oasis - my wife was able to get a reflexology massage which was sensational. Wine, beer and other amenities were offered for sale (and used!). We were sent to a restaurant for dinner which, as the hotel explained, was not fancy but great food. The breakfast was extremely good and set us up for a good day’s walk. Recommend for anyone dojng the camino - about 500m away from the trail but well worth the walk!

Beautiful, inviting hotel in Fromista Spain. I was passing through and expecting something ordinary but this was everything but ordinary! The rooms tastefully eco-conscious, super clean, really pretty outdoor gardens, warm and inviting dining area, great and accommodating staff and an overall super warm and welcoming vibe. Big thumbs up, Hotel Dona Mayor!

Front desk service best quality. Facilities are great, pool to loosen muscles. Lydia reflexology foot massage was worth every penny. Nice balcony to enjoy the outside. Clean, modern, large rooms. Best hotel thus far on the Camino.

Lovely hotel! Found this little gem while doing the Camino. Staff were very warm and attentive. Had many dining options to choose from on the menu. Our room was very tidy and clean. Had a cute terrace as well. Couldn’t recommend this place any more. If you’re doing the Camino or need a place to spend the night, this is it! Xo

Wanted to stay longer. Reflexology with Lydia was amazing. The breakfast was also delicious. And the staff were all so helpful. I’d go back even if not on the Camino!!

Nice stay, if walking the Camino its just a bit on the back side of town (which turned out to be a great thing, since I stayed while the town was celebrating with a big festival - many right in town were up very late). Rooms & service very good.
