It was a very local place, at 2pm we waited in the queue for around 30 minutes. Food is delicious, local and quick. Not too many options though. Well worth to visit in Valencia.

I recently checked out this classic bar in Valencia on a bustling Sunday morning around 11 AM. It's no surprise that it was jam-packed; this place is incredibly popular. Despite the crowds, I managed to find a spot. The baguette with sepia and alioli was incredible, and despite the small 237 ml coke, it was worth it. The cozy, old-school vibe and friendly service sealed the deal. If you find yourself in Valencia on a Sunday morning and don't mind a bit of a crowd, this place is a classic.

Good service, delicious food and fair price.
Had the fried calamari as tapas and the portion is quite big, can easily eat 2 people from one calamari tapas.
It comes with bread to have it as a bocadillo and a tasty alioli sauce.
I recommend this place for some late night tapas!

Real gem in central Valencia. Amazing food, servers are so polite and a lot of locals. Not expensive at all.

No frills. You get what you pay for. Service was very quick. We ordered some paella, garlic shrimp and chicken meal. All were really good other than the fries which tasted a bit like they were deep fried in old oil. But we didn’t come to Spain to eat fries ;) So that’s fine. The paella and chicken were good but the star was the garlic shrimp. So fresh, juicy, and hot (temperature)! Loved the non-assuming vibe. Would definitely recommend.

Our top 3 restaurants in Valencia. Nowhere you can eat a better pallela valenciana, either a better bocadillo con calamares. Yumi yumi

A local recommended us here to try the paella. The food was great. Even though their was a line to eat there, it moved quickly and we were seated in the outdoor seating area. The paella valenciana was great and the portion sizes were good.

Food is good. Portions are generous. Price is fair.

Do not expect a michellin-starred service. To be fair, it is the standard service we have experienced in most places.

Food is out of this world, fried squid in a sandwich (typical), or on a plate, we tried the baked or oven rice, snails, boquerones and obviously fried squid. If in the center highly recommended, a bit chaotic and there is a line but it goes quick!

Great food, we had to wait a little while to eat inside, but the staff was really nice even if it was completely full. The food tasted really good and it came fast.

A very economic place near the train station. I generally avoid near-station places but this has been a safe heaven for a tourist. Plenty of locals eating here traditional dishes. I had the pleasure of eating the "caracolas" (snails) for only €6, a pretty large portion and they also brought bread included in the price. The portions seem abundant for all dishes, my girlfriend had Russian salad and was unable to finish it. I saw here many locals get a sandwich stuffed with fried squids, I think it's typical. While you wait they offer very good olives.

Great place to eat snails and I recommend to take a bread, because to sauce from it is amazingly tasty.

We’ve enjoyed here tasty chicken paella and black rice with seafood.
Excellent grilled calamari, very well cooked and garnished with garlic oil. Big plates at “menu del dia” where you receive 2 dishes; dessert or coffee; and 1 beverage(beer or water).
Good location in old city on an animated alive street with restaurants, coffee places and sometimes live music.
Very friendly and patience waiters, smileing and helpful when asking details re. dishes.
Highly recommend for a great Spanish culinar experience.

Every time that I am in Valencia, Los Toneles is a place I visit at least once.
Though in the heart of the city it's in a popular part district surrounded by many restaurants and bars.
The place is local and the staff are fast! So you better know what you want.
They've got a great selection of tapas and other dishes.
Prices are reasonable and ambiance is traditional.
For those English speakers they also have the menu in both English and Spanish.

We enjoyed our meal, paella with two cans of soft drinks. It's wasn't busy and the service was great, we got served with a smile and a laugh. There was some laughing and our over even started cracking a song. The food was good and we enjoyed our dinner. It only costs us 17 euros. Highly recommend it.

The bocadillo with calamari is sublime. It comes with an aioli that is simply divine, you will eat all of it! And of course as is customary in Valencia you will get salty peanuts and olives while you wait. Fantastic breakfast, just make sure you don't choke on the calamari!
