Holiday Inn Express Bilbao, an IHG Hotel

This is a nice hotel. The rooms are spacious and they are updated. The breakfast is included and good as well.
Surprisingly one of the nicest hotels in my entire weeks long stay in europe. Very comfortable highly recommended!

I recently spent a few nights at Holiday Inn Bilbao from May 20th to May 23rd, and it was a great experience overall. The hotel was tucked away in a quiet area, and I was lucky enough to have a room with a stunning view of the mountains, which was a lovely surprise.

One thing I really appreciated was how clean everything was. The room was spotless, and the whole hotel had a fresh feel to it, which made me feel really comfortable during my stay.

One of the perks of staying there was the complimentary breakfast. It was nice to have that option each morning without having to worry about finding somewhere to eat. And to top it off, they also offered free shuttle service to the airport every half hour, which was super convenient.

The staff were fantastic too. Aimar, in particular, was really helpful and made sure I had everything I needed. He even sorted me out with a great room. And Carolina and Alex gave me some great tips on what to see and do around Bilbao since it was my first time visiting.

Overall, my stay at Holiday Inn Bilbao was really enjoyable. It had everything I needed for a comfortable stay, plus the friendly staff made me feel right at home. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a nice, hassle-free stay in Bilbao.

compelled to congratulate the hotel and its staff on a great service they give to their guests.
From a simple check in process to a lovely room which is well heated(it’s -1 outside) to the comfortable bed.
When you awake there is a lovely breakfast area packed with many delights to get your day off to the right start.

The only downside and it wasn’t for me as I’d already eaten in the lack of on site restaurant in the evening but that’s easily rectified with a 5 minute drive to a little town with restaurants.
I would definitely recommend staying here and I look forward to again.

this was my 1st stay in a holiday inn express or otherwise and what a breath of fresh air compared to the 2 luxury hotels I had stayed in while travelling in the Basque Country. The young lady on reception (Elisa) was fantastic and went out of her way to help me especially when I failed to master the vending machine. The other gentleman on reception/bar was also great. The room was spacious, nice view but most of all places to put stuff and hooks to hang stuff. Exceptional clean. Kettle, desk, chair in fact everything you need when staying in a hotel. closeness to the airport is good with a free shuttle bus every half hour. (bus driver was also excellent). Free breakfast with good selection. I did not eat in the restaurant. Very highly recommended.

We stayed in a "family room" (3 single beds) with 2 little kids. Everything was super clean, easy, even the cleaning staff was very kind and polite, breakfast amazing..

Super clean, great breakfast and location. Added bonus airport shuttle. Staff really friendly and helpful. Only niggle is the noisy gluggy sink but once it had finished it was quiet. Could do with new windows but wasnt too bisy on the roads but could here the cars.

Good location for the airport and the free shuttle bus is very convenient. My only issue are that the beds are very firm. Possibly because I'm used to a softer mattress but it wasn't a particularly comfortable sleep. Aside from that I enjoyed my stay and would stay there again.

Rooms are small and spartan, but the staff is good. Plus the free shuttle to BIO only takes 4 minutes. If this stays under 110 Euro a night, it's worth it.

Hotel was reasonably comfortable. The rooms above the ground floor patio are quite noisy, as people gather there and smoke late into the night.

Breakfast was very good - had pastries, yogurt, deli meats/cheese, etc. Staff friendly.

Check-in times seemed to be very long, as it is a busy hotel. Elevators need to be leveled/calibrated. One leaves quite a step to get in/out.

Overall, a great stay.

This is BY FAR the best HIE I ever been to. The staff is amazing — very customer-focused and with ‘can-do’ attitude, and speak English. The location, room amenities, well-stocked bar (with a few pintxos!) and big breakfast — everything was top notch and above the standard HIE offering. The room was very quiet, temperature-controlled (somewhat,AC does not go low enough), and dark at night. Beds super comfortable (although the pillows were too high and no down/feather pillow option). Spacious bathroom, with a bidet, excellent soap/shampoo, and abundance of white terry towels. TIP: if taking the shuttle to/from airport —make sure to take a ticket at the counter to give to the driver. Also know that the shuttle stops at the upper level of the airport.

I chose this hotel because it’s very close to the airport and my flights were arriving at 11pm and leaving at 7am. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the service here. It’s nothing like the holiday inn express in US. The staff are very professional and warm. At 4:30am two staff members with flawless English were there to greet you with big smile and had bagged breakfast ready for you to take to your flight.

Shuttle to/from the airport runs at precisely 30min interval and only takes 3 min. At the airport you can catch bus 3247 and be at Bilbao city center in 15 min (buy ticket at arrival level on first floor). There’s also bus to San Sebastián (PESA) that runs every hour and takes 75 min.

The room is very clean and functional, bathroom towels are one notch above the equivalent hotels in US. The two beds in the room seem bigger than queen size.

I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who has to pass through Bilbao in ungodly hours. I will definitely stay here again next time when I visit Basque Country. They have on site car rental too.

The staff was exceptionally helpful with accommodating the logistics of our 1 night stay during our vacation which included baggage storage, airport shuttle, early check in etc. they even offered us breakfast when we arrived and asked for a last minute early check in, we were pleasantly surprised by this after having flown through the night. Highly recommend becoming a member of the chain, free of charge.

Very nice room, quiet, has nice restaurant next door and breakfast and bar in lobby. Free shuttle from hotel to airport (and free from airport to hotel--if you can locate that small van on 3rd floor level in parking area away from main curb---but it is just 10 euros by taxi to hotel). Very close to airport.

The hotel is conveniently located especially for early flights. The rooms are clean and spacious. Coffee and tea are available in the room. You can get to the airport by a shuttle in 5-10 min which is also good.

Always enjoy staying here the night before a flight. Very close to the airport with a free breakfast and free shuttles running to the airport at an early hour. There is a bar in the lobby and a restaurant next door.

Comfy place, close to the airport. Great functional breakfast. The air conditioning kept the room at a sweating 30 degC. Could not adjust it to a more comfortable level. Apart fro.m that, a good hotel.
