El Peñón de Sopelana

Visited July 2024. Excellent seafood and drinks at reasonable prices with a superb view of the playa de Sopelana. Friendly bar staff who are more than happy to recommend various beverages and other menu items (in English or Spanish). On this occasion I had a txaxoli white wine, zamburinas (scallops), razor clams, a cider and a sherry. Both seafood dishes came with bread.

Beautiful spot overlooking the beach and ocean. Beer prices were reasonable. Difficult to park with limited parking nearby but worth the visit if you are able to get a parking spot.

One of the best visits we have ever made to a restaurant. The atmosphere on the terrace, really nice staff and what is more the food was really delicious. We had tuna tataki, tuna tartar and grilled octopus, but also another courses looked delicious. Worth the visit!!

Great restaurant above the beach with amazing views to the coast and surfers that usually go there.

It has indoor area and a terrace with outdoor tables. The wooden decoration is nice.

The indoor tables are not very close and has an area with a couch. The tables outside are a bit closer but nothing serious.

Yo can take a variety of coffees (Irish, scotch, etc.) , soft drinks, beer, spiritious drinks.
About meal there are seafood, burgers, and a variety of snacks.

There is access to the beach so you can enjoy a stroll after o before getting in.

Just about the most perfect lunch spot for travelers going through Bilbao... Or anyone that can afford an hours diversion. Do it. U won't regret it

Unbeatable location overlooking the great beach, delicious pintxos and very nice service!

Definitely a nice place to enjoy some drinks on the terrace looking over the beach, listening some music. Check when it’s open as they might run the business only on weekends out of season. Haven’t tried the restaurant.

Beautiful sandy beach good surfing but rocks both sides of beach, restaurant overlooking the sea easy paid parking short walk to the beach

Delicious food, such sweet service. The ground floor is a great beach type bar with amazing sunset views. Upstairs is the more 'chic' restaurant, if in the vicinity lovely place to visit. Surfer Walhalla 🌊

Having a Glas of Txakoli during Sunset is pure relaxation! Splendid service, the terrace is a wonderful place for watching surfers 🏄🏽‍♀, dogs 🐕 chasing waves, beachlife and the ocean itself.

Fantastic view for parking and enjoying the sun and beach, while there is a shower and water amd restaurant.

Shame we’re not allowed to bring dogs inside, but other than that was delicious.

We just ate downstairs, upstairs the menu is larger and fancier. But the tacos and various pintxos were delicious. The view is great and the staff friendly enough.

Absolutely amazing food and service. The setting was great and the owner and his staff were friendly and considerate.

What a spot. Beautiful at sunset. Looking out over the beach. Pricey enough by local standards but the view is worth paying for. Got some bloody delicious tacos as well so happy days.
