Hotel El Castillo de los Locos

My wife and I spent our honeymoon here. So, everything I say about Hotel Castillio El Loco and surrounding area may be rose tinted just a little... It is fair to say we had one of the best weeks of our lives here with a sea view from our room that was simply breath taking! The staff were amazing friendly and efficient. The rooms were spotless and well attended. The terrace bar and restaurant are very popular with the locals which in itself is a great recommendation. Its a quirky fun relaxed place. Great for couples in our opinion. Accessibility would be an issue for anyone with mobility issues. The bedrooms are accessed via a wonderful spiral stairs in one of the turrets. The old building does not lend itself to an escalator/lift. You will over look a wonderful bay and beach on one side and Suances beaches and marina on the other. You are not far from Santander and there are lots of beautiful places to visit but, why bother...

The Hotel El Castillo is placed at an unique spot in the top of the cliffs. Below the cliffs, the Los Locos beach is located, which is very famous among the surfers. The Hotel has a bar/ cafeteria directly in the cliff, with an impressive view. The drinks are a bit expensive but the environment deserve the price. The specialty is the "Cafe Creme" which is an outstanding coffee drink.

Had lunch here when visiting Playa de los locos. Standard fare but done well and not too pricey. Great for visiting either beach and nice views nearby with the faro in walking distance.

Beautiful place to stay ! The staff is lovely, the room with a sea view was perfect. Just above the surf spot of los locos. We’ll come back for sure.
