Restaurante El Peñón

Wow, this restaurant is an absolute gem! After a long hour in the car from Madrid to Toledo, we were starving and randomly walked into the nearest restaurant, not expecting much. To our surprise, it turned out to be one of the best dining experiences we've had in Spain!

The food was incredibly delicious, especially the steak! it was so tender and perfectly cooked. The salad was outstanding, with super fresh vegetables that we absolutely loved. And surprisingly, it was not expensive at all! We would definitely go back if we ever get the chance to visit Toledo again. Highly recommended!

Excellent restaurant with perfect service. We sat in a pleasant terrace just outside the city walls. The food was absolutely delicious and the service very attentive. The daily menu included great tapas served in a cute tin, a bottle of wine and a sweet nibble to finish. Definitely recommend.

Amazing gem in an otherwise horrible day in Toledo. Very attentive service and great food. The tomato tuna salad, dressed and prepared bedside, was amazing, as was the venison and the goose livers. Best meal of our trip.

We were very lucky as we didn’t make a reservation and got the last table available. We watched over 10 people get turned away. Make a reservation so you can try this amazing place. The food was outstanding!!!

Excellent service, food quality and price. We have stopped on our way to Malaga and I must say it is a Must! Kids have enjoyed croquetas de jamon, stew, ciervo en salsa, carcamusas, typical from the region .... Delicious

First of all the service is five stars. The waiters are very polite with a lot of patience. The food is local with good flavour and the price is more than fair for what you get. Overall we loved it and if we come again to Toledo we will dine here again for sure.

TODO MUY RICO!! Amazing food, great price, friendly staff. We recommend:
1. Foie with huevos rotos (scrambled eggs— it sounds weird but it is truly delicious)
2. Chuletitas de Cordero (baby lamb chops)
3. Pulpo a la brasa (grilled octopus)

Make sure to save room for the hojaldre de manzana (thin apple pastry)!

It's a really popular restautant, we had waited for a while before they bring the food so they invited us two small appetizer. They are quite clever and generous. We like the salmon and my friend like the their local specialty caramusas.

I absolutely love Spanish cuisine so finding this place was fantastic!

We came for lunch on a weekday, and this place was CROWDED! Largely with locals. So we were seated at the bar. It was noisy. Better make a reservation in advance.
But the place is worth the effort. The food was very good, especially the venison stew. If you are around, have a meal here.
