Albergue Casa Susi

Susi is one of the best cooks I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. She is personable and kind and so so welcoming. Fermin is so accommodating and attentive. There aren't enough words to say how amazing this stay was. The facility is beautiful and feels like a home. Love it!

What an amazing host, Susi and Firmin have a wonderful relaxing Albergue. From the comfy beds, to the garden with its river and comfortable hammock to an amazing dinner using the produce from the garden. The story of how of how the albergue came to existence is inspiring. I would highly recommend a night there.

They took us in and showed us to our beds. Then we discovered that they had double booked! We were happy to move on but they said no way and a solution was found. As they say.... "The Camino provides"... 😀

This is the best albergue on the whole Camino! Susie and Fermin are two of the nicest, warmest and most welcoming hosts I've had the pleasure of meeting. If you stay, you won't want to leave! And the home cooked food from the garden just tops off the whole experience! Plus there's breakfast!!!

After 20 days of Camino, for the first time I feel the spirit of the real Camino, and all thanks to Susi and Fermin. The hosts are wonderful. The hostel is beautifully decorated, every detail in it is made with great care. Suzi's food is excellent. On the way to the Camino you have to sleep here because they are the real Camino.

A perfect stop on the Camino. Excellent accommodation all round. Dinner was delicious, with a classic Camino convivial atmosphere, all down to the genial hosts Susi & Fermin.
This place showcases everything good about the Camino, and I’ll definitely ensure I stay again whenever I’m passing.

I literally cannot believe how nice this place is!! Not only is the location great (beautiful garden, next to the river, swing, hammock), but also the owners are ridiculously nice and the dinner they offer with the overnight stay is so delicious and mostly made with ingredients they grow in their garden! They manage to create a super welcoming atmosphere!
I honestly didn’t know about them at all before I stopped here (was just tired and hoping to rest earlier than planned), but it was really a hidden treasure!
Bikers: YES, you can store you bike inside overnight, during daytime lock it to the railing outside, at night they bring it in.

Our most amazing stay on the Camino so far! A place that feels like home! And hosts that feel like parents no matter how old you are. I highly recommend the community dinner, it brings everyone in the table together, thanks to Susi and Fermin (the hosts) that open up and tell their story and than we share our reason to walk the Camino. Amazing food that Susi makes herself (a lot from their garden) and truly they make you feel like family there. Nothing like that in any other Albergue. It cost 28€ including dinner and breakfast-totally worth it.

If you don't stop in this albergue on 'your way' you've seriously missed out in a treat! The albergue is cute, modern, and very clean with the best bathrooms yet!
Both hosts are exceptional, genuinely interested, and are happy to accommodate any requests. Susi's food was delicious, which was appreciated after some very repetitive pilgrims meals. I felt very well looked after by this beautiful couple who are all heart. ❤ Thanks for having me!

Casa susi exceeded all my expectations 🙏 I felt so welcome as soon as I arrived, just like home. The food, fresh from the garden, was amazing just what was needed. You must stop here on your walk, you will not be disappointed. Thank you Casa Susi ❤

For me personally it was the best albergue during my camino in 2023. Both hosts are lovely and super nice. The dinner was phenomenal! The service was outstanding! The garden is perfect to end the day with a cold drink. Thank you Casa Susi!

This is such a special place to stay. Susi and Fermin were both so warm and welcoming, and do an incredible job of fostering community. The dinner was probably my best on the camino Frances--it was all fresh from the garden or locally produced (even the excellent wine). To top it all off, the river in the back was chilly and perfectly refreshing after taking the mountain route into town. I would go out of my way to stay here again, and will certainly recommend it.

We stayed at Casa Susi on our Camino in 2019: it was one of the best nights on our walk. Take a moment to walk down the path and soak your feet in the river. Magical healing. Just a heart-filling moment on the Camino before ascending to O'Cebriero. Buen Camino!

Best place I stayed on the Camino. Stayed here in off season while booking in advance, we had a small group of people and the dinner was lovely and vegetarian. The house itself was amazing and Susi & Fremin were really the most friendly and interesting people.

This is the most amazing albergue. Susi accommodated my dietary restriction, serving an outstanding homemade meal without any dairy that was absolutely delicious. The beds are very comfortable, and the bathrooms are private. She insists on dinner together, which is a blast, and the wine is outstanding-- the best I've had yet. I want to stay here longer.

This was hands-down the best albergue I stayed at while walking the Camino. Susi and Fermin welcome you like a member of the family, the communal meal is delicious and fresh from the garden, and the lodging is clean and comfortable. Can't be missed!

We had an amazing warm welcome from the lovely hosts Susi & Fermin. Then a delicious home cooked meal and great evening festivities followed by a comfy bed for the night!! Highly recommend stopping at Casa Susi on your Camino🥇🥇🥇

Really felt like a home for pilgrims because everything was designed to bring us together like a family - the single beds, the communal meal, the garden and bonus river flowing behind the house. The house is naturally cooled even during the hottest part of summer.

Wonderful hosts at this Albergue!!! The evening meal (optional) was delicious. The accommodations, though simple, were very comfortable and clean. Location is perfect - the Camino is right out the door. My wife and I would stay here again without question. 5+ Stars in our book.

As for me, it's the best albergue on the whole Camino Frances.
