This was by far the best quality food we’ve tried in our short time in Madrid. It is right off the Plaza Mayor next to a giant market place (San Miguel). I would 100% go back here and recommend it to anyone. Great mix of international flavors and food.

This is a lovely restaurant, with a great selection of wine, and was surprisingly quiet. The waitress was very friendly and helpful. I had the oxtail, which was great, but I wish I had taken the tapas option so I could try more.

Superb small restaurant, near the Plaza Mayor of Madrid. Small menu but a good selection of wines. There is a small bar if you want. I had mini sliders, accompanied by potatoes and a small salad. Quality food served in an elegant way. And tasty. Service is slow with only one waitress on staff on the night I visited. She was very attentive, helpful, and always cheerful. It is not a tourist site, nor for people on a tight schedule. The good food and atmosphere are a plus. It is worth a visit.

Amazing spot for a dinner. The staff were very welcoming and patient with our poor Spanish. The food was incredible and lovely space to sit and chat.

If you want to eat something that has a home made taste, this is the right restaurant! They have daily menus and it is soo rich because includes delicious things. I ate pollo with cuscus including almond and it was amazing! I recommend this delicious food to everyone, but the daily menu may change. Therefore, you can ask the recommendations of the friendly employees about the daily menu.

Perfect to avoid tourists traps in the center of Madrid, near of la plaza mayor. You can taste real spanish cooking, in a nice, cozy place, and for quite a good price: you won't find that quality for this price. Altough the muppets on the wall kind of scared me...

A great tapas restaurant near the plaza mayor and the San Miguel market. The menu is not extensive, but there are plenty of typical plates with a modern twist to choose from. The menu is much more progressive and modern than most of the neighboring establishments. If you're looking for something different than this is a good choice. There are plenty of wine options, draft beer, and the typical drinks.

I was lucky enough to meet Emma's father in a hairdresser near to the Plaza Mayor and chatted to him joyfully about his life during our haircuts. He recommended his daughter's restaurant to me and five days later my friend and I had the best meal I've had in Madrid in the 27 years I've been travelling here.

Salad with pears, blue cheese and walnuts, fried aubergine with sesame and honey, ox tails in a deep luxurious gravy with thinly died potatoes and crispy prawn parcels were the main dishes we tried, I scraped each plate clean and revelled in the amazing flavours.

We had desert too as I didn't want the meal to end and was glad I squeezed more food into my already full belly. I feel so lucky to have found this place and I hope that by reading this review I can pass that luck onto you. You must eat here if you have chance.

Great meal following a nearby flamenco show! I was able to make reservation easily by calling in ahead. The dishes are flavorful and the service excellent. Family owned, definitely worth stopping by if you’re in the area and need a quick bite to eat

Absolutely perfect. I can't remember last time I was so overwhelmed with the food I ate, like in this place. I can't decide what was better; salmorejo, chicken tajine, tuna cubes or hake and prawn balls. We enjoyed every single bite, and we will come back for sure.

Really tasty and well priced food in a relaxed setting. Really close to the main tourist action - but this place isn’t touristy at all. The chorizo was very tasty, as was the chicken tagine. Would come back here again in a heartbeat.

Great service; only one waitress but she was very friendly and helpful. Some of the best food I've had in Spain, and an excellent price for the quality and central location.

I went to Emma Cocina after reading Edward Hobson's review. He was spot on! My girlfriend had the Ravioli with Pesto and I had the Chicken Tangine with almonds and plum. Both were superb! We also split a pear salad full of greens, walnuts, and blue cheese. The perfect combination of sweet and salty but not overpowering. Emma was very gracious and accommodating. The atmosphere was pleasant, uncomplicated , and very clean. If you walk by this little restaurant, you are making a mistake. I loved my experience at Emma's

Very nice little place to escape the busy Mercado but eat very well. Nice menu del Dia or choice of suggestions. We ate some typical spanish tapas, but as well some different mid eastern inspired, or with other flavors. 👌 Very friendly service, great food and very nice prices. What more do you want?

Great food and amazing owner! Bumped into this place while looking for sit down places around San Miguel market. My wife & I loved everything that was served and great wine to pair with. We actually rated all places we dined during our Spain trip and rated this the best!!!!

Based on a recommendation that we received, we had a very nice lunch at Emma Cocina. The food is simple and unpretentious but at the same time flavorful and delicious. My wife and I had the menu of the day and really enjoyed our choices.
