El Paraje del Chef

We had a wonderful stay at El Paraje del Chef! Eraicy and Carlos are beautiful people who really care about their guests! You can feel their passion about food, cooking and making guests comfortable. Carlos is very happy to share his incredible knowledge that he earned during many years of working as a chef in several countries.
Breakfast was typically spanish including local bread and serrano as well as good coffee.
The cottage had everything we needed and we could really enjoy the surrounding nature and calmness of the property. The view from the property is amazing and watching the sunrise over Laroles is just breathtaking. If you are into hiking, there are multiple hiking routes directly passing by the property so you don’t even have to touch your car.

Wow, what a gastronomic experience!
From the moment we arrived, Juan Carlos treated us like long lost friends. After a glass of fizz and a chat he showed us to our accommodation which was perfect.
It was a warm September evening and he suggested we ate outside, which was a good choice, very peaceful. Every course that came out was cooked to perfection. Juan Carlos took the time to explain where he sourced his produce from, as local as possible, and how he intended to cook it and check with us that we were happy with his choices.
Breakfast was amazing too. A very talented and attentive young chef.
Can't wait to experience it all over again.

An incredible experience! We will never forget the warm welcome and generous hospitality of Juan Carlos, his charming wife and delightful father. And above all, the meals were fantastic. He is a master chef who creates healthy dishes that are unique, beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. We were amazed that he could provide Michelin star quality dinners with a nice variety of choices in such an intimate setting. Plus, the calm serenity of the Alpujarras is easily enjoyed from the comfort of the spacious and well-equipped cottages. We loved our experience at El Paraje del Chef and highly recommend it.

A real hidden gem up to the hills of the eastern Alpujarras! After the
first evening we changed our travel plans spontanously and decided to
stay one night longer. In every detail from the menu to the cottages you
can feel the passion of Juan Carlos and his very attentetive and lovely
small team. We had the menu for dinner and breakfast twice and slept in
one of the spacious and cosy cottages made from local wood. Besides us
there was only one more couple, but Juan Carlos changed the 8 course
menu completely for the second evening. Both menues were amazing: mainly
made from local products with extraordinary high quality. It was a great
mixture of traditional Andalusian food and creative international
influences (best ceviche I´d ever had). He sources the organic wine from
a small winery close by. We are really interested in good wines and we
didn´t expect such amazing wine in this region of Spain. We haven´t
eaten any better in many much pricier restaurants even decorated with a
Michelin star. Another recommendation: Take a long hike in the beautiful
surroundings before dinner or else you dont`t have any chance to finish
the menu!

Had a wonderful birthday dinner and stay at El Paraje del Chef. Carlos and his wife were super welcoming and exceptional hosts. The food was breathtaking - Michelin star level cuisine for an incredibly reasonable price. We shall be returning at the earliest opportunity. Can’t recommend enough.

We stayed here for one night last week and it was excellent. The place is lovely, Juan Carlos and his staff are all very friendly, the food was tasty and the views stunning. Everything is done with love. Thank you! Will definitely be back.

Carlos went out of his way to cater for our group of 4 very tiered and hungry cyclists. Also his cheese is amazing.

It is a delightful place nestling in the mountains overlooking the white village of Laroles. It is run by the chef Carlos and his wife and offers a delicious tasting menu. The food is superb and beautifully presented. Accommodation is in attractive cabanas in the grounds. Highly recommended if you are looking for something exclusive and intimate.

What a lucky coincidence to discover Juan Carlos' finca!

Situated a 1,5h car ride away from Granada, we found a remote, intimate and cozy rural hotel on the edge of the Sierra Nevada national park. Juan Carlos and his lovely wife gave us a warm welcome, offered us a welcome drink, and instantly made us feel arriving at home away from home. Our cabaña, named "Estrella de las Nieves", was very clean and ready for accommodating two guests. Besides being designed with lots of attention to detail, our cabaña was comfortably equipped with air condition/heating, TV, WiFi, wardrobe, armchairs, fridge/minibar, towels and a huge bathroom with a shower.
During our stay, Juan Carlos turned out not only to be a dedicated and affectionate host, but an even better chef on a mission. He showed us around and took the time to explain us his vision of composing gastronomic delights, relying to a big extent on the huge seasonal variety of high-quality homegrown and/or regional products. And he didn't disappoint us, at all! Our reservation included two absolutely delicious, well-elaborated and carefully presented meals. Particularly worth mentioning is the tasting menu!! Each meal was accompanied by a range of well-matching local wines and beers. The next day, there was an abundant spanish homemade breakfast along with an energizing mug of fine coffee. The service was impeccable and felt very personal. After having enjoyed our dinner for two, we fell into the sheets of our comfy bed and had the best sleep in a loooong time, since it was so absolutely quiet and peaceful up there.

Thank you so much for having us at "El Paraje del Chef", Juan Carlos! We will definitely need to return!

What an amazing experience!!! I was here with my wife and we just enjoyed the complete intimate environment and the excellent way they took care of us from the get go. We will definitely be back!!

Beautiful setting overlooking a whitewashed village, AMAZING food and Juan Carlos has so much passion for what he does and it shows.

Fuimos a comer por recomendación con unos amigos que los conocen.

Bueno bueno, todo excelente. Nos han preparado un menú personalizado exquisito, con una carta en papel de lo que vamos a comer, personalizada con nuestros nombres “un detalle de gran altura”

A la llegada nos ha recibido Juan y su mujer, con una copa de cava muy frío, y nos han enseñado las cabañas del alojamiento.

Durante la comida la hemos maridado con vinos locales, vinos de una bodega vecina “Miguel”, muy correctos y amables de bebér con muchos aromas florares.

No fue una comida sino una experiencia gastronómica que gusta mucho.

Un paraje espectacular.
Yo habia estado hae 5 años en verano y ahora lo he querido compartir con amigos.
La belleza que tiene este lugar es difícil de encontrar y las personas que lo dirigen són 10 .

Lugar idílico con un nivel de atención inmejorable. Sin duda destacar la experiencia gastronómica ya que es difícil poner precio a tanto nivel de detalle y esquisitez.
