Hotel Gran Bilbao

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Hotel Gran Bilbao and I must say it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The hotel's ambiance, cleanliness, and amenities exceeded my expectations. What truly stood out was the outstanding service provided by the staff, particularly Mihael. Her recommendations about the city helped me explore hidden gems and experience the local culture.

Excellent hotel. We stayed here after arriving on the ferry. Secure car park. Very comfortable bed. We had dinner here, which was very good and good value. Staff are lovely, very helpful and friendly. Mihaela gave us further information including how to buy The mattress used by the hotel. We shall definitely stay here again next time in Bilbao.

No complaints lovely hotel. Close to the main attractions and transport links. Large rooms and great house keeping. Fantastic breakfast selection and friendly staff. Special shout out to the lovely reception staff and Mihaela in customer services.
Yes there's a very steep hill to get back to the hotel but you do have a bus stop immediately outside the hotel door and all transport is reasonably priced.

All aspects of our stay were excellent for visiting Bilbao. The hotel is especially well situated if travelling by car, with underground car parking, including bookable charging points. The buffet breakfast was especially good. The hotel is approximately 15 minutes walk from the old part of the City. It’s a large, modern hotel. All staff were excellent. We would certainly stay again.

Great choice. A real 4 star hotel , very clean with spacious rooms and a view on the forest. The staff was very friendly and available 24h. Very close to city center by foot or bus, you'll have no problem to get there in no time !
Plenty of choices on the breakfast buffet that we could not resist. I would definitely choose this hotel again !

I just spent three wonderful nights at the Hotel Gran Bilbao and I can't sing its praises enough! From the moment I arrived, I was struck by the hotel's elegant lobby and warm, welcoming staff.

My room was a dream come true - spacious, stylish, and spotlessly clean. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the pillows were so soft and supportive that I slept like a baby. The bathroom was a marble-clad oasis, with a rain showerhead that was pure bliss.

But what really made my stay stand out was the exceptional service. The staff went above and beyond to make me feel at home, from the concierge who helped me book a last-minute reservation at a local restaurant to the housekeeping team who left me a thoughtful surprise on my pillow.

The hotel's facilities were also top-notch - the gym was well-equipped and the rooftop bar offered stunning views of the city. And the breakfast buffet? Wow! Fresh, delicious, and extensive, with something for every taste and dietary need.

Overall, I was thoroughly impressed with the Hotel Gran Bilbao and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a luxurious, comfortable, and exceptionally serviced stay in Bilbao. I can't wait to return!

The hotel is located in a pleasant, quiet area. You can walk to the Siete Calles district in 10-15 minutes.
The underground car park is worth using, otherwise parking around the hotel is difficult.
The staff is very nice and helpful. The room was spacious and well equipped.
The breakfast was special, such a wide choice and high quality is not usual for a four star hotel. We also tried the dinner, I can heartily recommend it!
I was very impressed with the hotel's commitment to the environment. Water refills on all floors (carbonated and non-carbonated).
The reception area is very trendy, both in terms of colours and the shape and design of the armchairs. In my personal opinion, the only thing that should be got rid of are the artificial flowers in the restaurant. It would be much more tasteful if the atmosphere of the reception area were to be reflected there (both in colour and design).

Very nice hotel that all taxis know where it is. Some 20 minutes walk to get to the center but in nice roads near the river. Rooms are very nice and good size. Breakfast is super complete and nice. Staff is great. In particular, Mrs Lele kept my room spotless!

Michaela gave us great recommendations about things to do. The hotel is not city center but it is modern and wheelchair accessible. And the accessible municipal busses wizz you into the centre in less than 10 minutes.

Nice hotel in a good position to reach easily city center. Our room was comfortable, wide and with a great view on the river.

Had a great stay. Hotel is modern with many nice touches— such as the free ice-water or seltzer dispenser in the hall (never seen that before). Room was spacious & comfortable.

A beautiful and modern hotel, very close to the city centre and in a very quiet neighborhood. All the staff is really pleasant and welcoming, specially the men working in the restaurant. We had a very spacious room, which was adapted for disabled people. Everything was spotlessly clean. Very comfortable beds and pillows. Wifi works really well. Rooms have a mini fridge, machine for coffee and tea and a safe. Our room was on the seventh floor and the views to the river were beautiful. Restaurant with beautiful views to the river and even a beautiful play area for children. The breakfast was simply amazing: all kinds of bread, fried eggs, scrambled eggs, individual Spanish omelettes, bacon, ham, cheeses, fruits, a honeycomb, smoothies, fresh orange juice, yogurts, cereals, waffles, pancakes, all kinds of pastries and much more, plus all the hot drinks. With this huge selection of breakfast items, we didn't eat again until dinner time. It's been my fourth time at Hotel Gran Bilbao and I will try to come back every year if I can.

Such a great hotel, especially if you love art. It's beautiful and everyone was really helpful. The rooms are large and clean. Beds were very comfortable. I would definitely stay here again!

The Hotel isn't in the centre of Bilbao but that's ok, within 10-15min you reach it easily by walking. They have plenty of parking space available plus the rooms are quite, clean and pretty comfy. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Will stay here next time definitely again. Thanks HGB

We loved it

Super clean very comfortable and great location for us. Fantastic experience and excellent staff and superb quick maintenance department who fixed a small leak in our bathroom in a matter of minutes and on a Sunday wow that's what you call service. The staff were all so helpful and accommodating especially with the way they looked after us with our travel companion sheba the cat nothing was too much trouble for all staff including the bar. And amazing service ordering a taxi which was outside the hotel in two minutes excellent experience we will definitely be back thanks again for a lovely relaxing night

This hotel is well located with great bus connection to the centre, the rooms are lovely and the staff could not be more helpful. The breakfast is most definitely five star and the choice of fresh food is amazing. Miheala, customer service, is very lovely! The only down side was the air freshener used in the lobby and corridors is overpowering for anybody with respiratory problems or headaches that are triggered by odours, otherwise would highly recommend a visit!

We stayed for one night on the 19th March 2024.
The reception staff were very charming and most helpful in assisting with sorting out technology requirements.
The room was most comfortable and the standard of cleanliness was noteworthy.
Checkout was seamless as was the organisation of a taxi for the airport. A very pleasant finale to a great visit to lovely and memorable Bilbao.

I thought 23 of us staying here for a stag do would’ve been a problem but not in the slightest! The staff couldn’t have been any more welcoming and the rooms are brilliant there! Would definitely recommend!

This hotel is a short walk from the food market and the old town. It has secure parking and is in a good location. The staff were very helpful, the restaurant has a good menu and the beds are very comfortable. Well worth a visit.
