Hotel Ercilla de Bilbao, Autograph Collection

This hotel is a beauty and incredibly centrally located in town. The staff are always very professional and courteous -- and the breakfast buffet staff is second to none! They are so kind, patient, sweet and so good at what they do. We have been coming back for 2 years now and still see the same familiar faces, always happy to help, give us to-go boxes and make us feel at home. The food is delicious, it's seriously one of our favorite things about this hotel. Rooftop is nice also for sunny days but not included in f&b credit.

This hotel was in a great location. Breakfast is amazing. My only complaint in the whole experience is that we were not allowed to shuffle seats on the rooftop patio, but I believe this was a cultural difference and not a rudeness. Overall a great day.

It is the 2nd time I have stayed in this hotel, and every time I am in Bilbao, it is my first option.

Positive:
Rooms are very comfortable, functional, and have a stylish distinct design (I wish I could have a room at home like this).
Rooms are also very clean.
Service and staff are super friendly and helpful.
Nice breakfast and good restaurant, too.
Right in the city centre, close to very lively streets and 5 min walk to some great pinchos.
Within a walking distance to the Guggenheim and other attractions.
Great rooftop bar with a nice view during summertime.
Great internet. And rooms are business ready.

Negative:
Parking is tricky. You need to book it in advance. But there is a parking space 5 min walk.
No swimming pool or spa ( but had a good gym).
A rooftop bar is often fully booked, and eating options are limited ( not as good as restaurants at level 0).
TV difficult to connect to.

The hotel itself has really nice and trendy decor - while the room was quite small and as a titanium I didn't even get an upgrade, I found the a la carte breakfast restaurant really amazing. I chose it as my welcome gift and it was so worth it. Every dish was artfully presented, and the choices were abound. Service was also super fast and warm!

Great hotel in a good location. Walking distance to metro. 15 mins away to museum and old town. Many food choices around too. Room is clean and nicely done. Service is always with a smile especially the breakfast crew. Go for the rooftop bar as it has a nice atmosphere.

Walk to the local market for excellent pintxos and don't miss the nearby Guggenheim art museum.

3rd time at this wonderful hotel in 12 months. I was impressed with the hotel and service before but was blown away on our last trip. We spent 2 glorious nights in Bilbao and this hotel is conveniently placed right in the center of the action, being close to shops, Michelin restaurants, the Guggenheim and River Walk. This hotel met and exceeded our every high expectations..from the friendliness and professionality of their staff to the choice of room. Our Bonvoy recognition was acknowledged and we received an upgraded room which was truly appreciated. Thank you Ms Julia!

Took us a few turns to find, but once we entered were greeted warmly from all the staff at the hotel. Our room wasn't quite ready so enjoyed a complimentary drink at the bar. Only waited about 45 minutes, really just nice to relax. Then onto our room which was super spacious and clean. Only hotel that offered a 'real bathtub' plus a walk in shower in our two week travels. Breakfast was plentiful and good. Location was ideal, could walk to old town, Guggenheim, Funicular, as well as Fine Art Museum in minutes. No need to take transportation. Would definitely stay here again if in the area.

The hotel offers a commodious room equipped with a range of amenities. Situated in the heart of the city, its staff exhibit a commendable level of friendliness and helpfulness. The rooftop terrace provides an excellent space for relaxation following a lengthy stroll along the Camino, while the breakfast buffet proves to be a delightful experience. The buffet team displays attentiveness and affability. Additionally, a takeaway box option was graciously extended for brunch.

Really nice hotel, even though you can see it’s an old building, it is very nicely renovated. The location is really good, walking distance to everything as well as next to a metro. Neighborhood is really nice too.
The staff was amazing, basically anyone we have interacted with was very helpful and friendly.

Very good and useful location of the hotel. You can reach all the points of the city easily from there. Breakfast consists of American pancakes and waffles. 🧇 Orange juice is real juice. Blurred eggs were too blurred and not by standard. Staff was helpful and supportive. Active and well equipped fitness centre in the hotel.

Extremely friendly staff the hotel is in a great location, walkable to everything 20 minutes to the furthest Guggenheim museum.
Recommend getting the largest nicest room that has a great shower with a wood floor. You could fit 10 people in it.
My only complaint is about myself I might’ve felt a bit too warm and I never asked to have the air conditioner looked at but other than that it was perfect.
I have a rooftop deck and Bar and they have a lobby bar and they have breakfast lunch on the second floor Buffay style everybody is very accommodating.
Nice lady at the front desk actually spent 15 minutes on the phone with the cab company trying to find my cellular phone that I left in the taxi 👍🤠

Beautiful social areas and bedrooms, in a very central location.

Watch the sun set in the lovely rooftop bar while enjoying a cocktail or two, as the city lights up like Rio, and make absolutely sure to get up the following morning in times to enjoy breakfast there.

Seriously, it's probably the best hotel buffet breakfast of any 4 star hotel I've stayed in, ever.

Close to shopping and dining options galore, it's also less than ten minutes drive to the main bus/train stations if Bilbao is only one step in your journey.

Rooms comfortable and clean and spacious. Staff helpful and friendly. Located in the centre close to everything.

The only thing I'd say is that the bar (lovely) is expensive so maybe explore the local bars and restaurants which are better priced. We went to Foodoo which was good.

One of the best hotels I have stayed in in the last 2 months travelling around Spain and Portugal. It's a Marriott chain hotel even though that is not in the name. I was surprised by that. The breakfast buffet is easily the best I have eaten in ever. Well placed, close to restaurants and easy walking distance to train, bus stations and the Guggenheim.

Ercilla de Bilbao is one of the best hotels I stayed in! I was so well received by the staff, they are really helpful and kind. All food was delicious, from the buffet breakfast to the brunch, and the rooftop bar has the best vibe. The room had a really nice view over Bilbao. The hotel also has a fitness center.
Location is great too.
I hope to return to Ercilla!

Clean, great service, perfect location. This is a lovely hotel. Make sure to check out the rooftop terrace.

Note, air conditioning is very poor. You will sweat at night. That's why the 2 star on the room.
