Juan de la Cosa Hotel situated on Berria Beach.....one of the best experiences of our lives!! Such a beautiful location set right on the most amazing beach with fantastic views and 2km of wonderfully clean sand and fabulous ocean! A paradise for relaxing, walking, swimming, surfing and connecting with nature..so good for body and soul!! The Hotel staff are attentive, thoughtful, efficient and friendly....you could not ask for more!!!. The lovely cleaning ladies, the wonderful restaurant and bar staff and the always welcoming reception staff are a credit to the very present hands on owners of this incredible venue. From the beautiful food to the spotlessly clean rooms with breathtaking views this is a jewel in the crown of Cantabria. After a month's stay we didn't want to leave and cannot wait to return! The location is perfect for a beach retreat holiday or as a base to explore the many Northern Spanish Towns, Villages and Beaches within easy reach of the hotel as well as an opportunity to experience the local Fiestas and culture of this delightful area!
This is a fabulous hotel in an idyllic location with the best welcome....who could ask for more!!!

This is a lovely hotel in a lovely location.
Just come back from a Gastronomy week which was very enjoyable. Our Saga rep gave 100 % and the owner was also great. The location is a little remote so if you were just going on holiday you may need to hire a car for sightseeing.
The food is a la carte and very much local produce is used.

Wow, wow, wow! What a lovely holiday we have just had....again.
We stayed at the Hotel Juan de la Cosa 5 years ago and had to
come back and once again we were delighted!
All the staff are so friendly and helpful and the hotel is set in a stunning location on the Berria beach with a beautiful nature reserve just behind the hotel.
This family run hotel knows how to please their guests,
serving fresh delicious meals throughout the day and evening
and Margot is an amazing hostess, welcoming and very keen to share her local knowledge alongside Belen.
Our Saga rep Belen was very informative, very funny
and was determined as always, to make everyone feel special
and experience a memorable holiday.
Thank you all for a lovely holiday with you.

Well, where do I start as we certainly struck lucky when we booked this gem of a hotel on our first Saga holiday in northern Spain.
The location is amazing being only a short walk/bus ride from Santona and Laredo and with the added benefit of a super beach in front of the hotel.
The Hotel is also on the route of the El Camino de Santiago, so you meet a fair few pilgrims from all over the world when you walk into Santona.
The staff are committed to making your stay amazing and work very hard to achieve this, which is a breath of fresh air in these modern times (Perhaps something to do with being Family run).
If I could remember all the names it would a long list to thank, so I think best to thank Margot and Belen who can do the thanks to the others.
As customers we are very quick to complain, but slow to Say a big big thank you, especially when it costs nothing to be kind to those that serve us.
Thank you from us , for making our stay such a wonderful first visit to your wonderful part of the world.
Also thank you for organising the teams from the Vuelta to stay, as a massive cycling fan it made my visit even more of a treat.

I RARELY rate anything two nights into a stay but I’m sure I have landed in Paradise in Northern Spain. Pinch me and tell me I am not dreaming… oh my. The food, the comfort, the cleanliness, the food, the location, the food, the staff, did I mention the food?!!!
It’s absolutely fantastic here. I’m a 50+ year old single woman with a disability and I am being treated like a princess.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Fantastic staff...excellent food and wine...the beach behind the hotel is the best I've seen and was devoid of shells, pebbles and people! Santonia is very...very clean and is also the anchovie capital of the world. We watched the fishing boats unloading at the Quay. Lovely area....highly recommended.
