I am an American and Spaniard living in Spain for over 20 years, having chosen Madrid for my family for its excellent quality of life. One of the things many tourists fail to experience is the Guadarrama National Park only 45 minutes north from the center of Madrid. If you’re interested in nature and enjoy walking in the mountains, hiking from the town of Cercedilla is a must. After a morning hike on a 2,000 year old Roman highway, I highly recommend having lunch at Los Frutales, a delightful indoor/outdoor restaurant with wonderful meat dishes (from livestock that is raised locally) and their own trout farm, with attentive service by David, Bruno and the entire staff. You can reach Cercedilla using local trains. If you have a car it’s on the way to Segovia on the A-6 highway.

Great ambience, good service and fantastic food. Best restaurant I have been to in Spain in 9 years. Nothing was too much trouble...menu explained in English for us...food was out of this world. Not rushed, despite being full on a weekday lunchtime. We will be back!! Recommend you make a reservation...1.30 is a good time to book for lunch as you get a more personalised service before they get too busy.

From the welcome to the service to the food and the great value, this is the No1 restaurant in the region for good reason. We have always had a concern that because the Spanish have an aversion to tipping the hard-working staff in restaurants it has an adverse effect on the motivation and attention of the staff. Not so in Los Frutales, this place is worthy of a Michelin star. The staff are absolutely superb, the food is amazing and the value for money is outstanding. The trout is out of this world, the lamb is amazing and the desserts superb. The location is amongst the best in the world. We have eaten in restaurants from Beijing to New York and this place is up there with the absolute best. A Gem. Change the Spanish culture and tip well for the pleasure of eating in Los Frutales

Beautiful outdoor garden seating. Loved their house salad mix. Perfectly salted hard boiled eggs! Scanned the QR code for the menu. Service was terrific. I personally didn't care for the sherry sauce on my trout, but I am wanting to go back to try something else!

So beautiful and fresh during the hot summer, and the food quite good and reasonable price taking in view the beautiful place, and waiters very nice too, I totally recommend it!!!

Great food, service and hospitality in a lovely valley setting. You should book a table before setting off. Handy for countryside walks.

Opción inigualable y el mejor regalo que pude hacerle a mi madre en mayo. Sitio precioso, bien cuidado, personal amabilísimo, comida espectacular: jamón de jabugo y cochinillo de locura. Precio con botella de vino y postres <50€

Magnífico restaurante en Cercedilla. Servicio impecable y la comida muy rica. Mención especial a las croquetas de jamón ibérico y al cochinillo. Para terminar unas torrijas típicas del momento que estaban de rechupete. Volveremos!

Hemos ido a comer en grupo, 13 personas, la atención ha sido perfecta. La comida exquisita. En general un 10 todo! Lo recomiendo 100%, sin dejar de nombrar las visitas tan bonitas. Un lugar perfecto!

Sitio espectacular. Un jardín de lujo para comer fresquito. Un riachuelo que pasa por dentro con sus truchas.

Ir a Los Frutales es un acierto seguro. Según mis hijos, aquí hacen las croquetas màs ricas del mundo. Mi hermano dice que aquì comes los mejores postres caseros que jamàs hayas probado. Mi marido y amigos resaltan que la carta, en cuanto a carne y/o pescado no tiene competencia en esta zona. También risquisimas las ensaladas! Y yo doy fe de todo ello y añado que su jardin- terraza es un pequeño paraiso en la naturaleza sacado de un cuento de hadas. Trato amable, cercano y familiar. Ir a los Frutales es una parada obligada cada vez que vamos a Cercedilla. Sin duda lo recomiendo a todo el que quiera comer realmente bien y estar a gusto de un ambiente familiar y bonito.
