Matador

Authentic, delicious tapas accompanied by inexpensive yet wonderful drinks in an incredibly decorated setting. What more could you ask for? Staff is wonderful as well. You cannot miss this place if you’re visiting Madrid! We went twice and would have gone again if our stay in Madrid was longer. Definitely try the Galician tuna pie and Matador and/or goat cheese toasts. But honestly, you can’t go wrong with any choice.

Amazing food and service. We had a bit of everything with sangria, vermouth and a couple of local beers. I definitely recommend this place.

After four weeks of travelling, our best meal was also our cheapest. We ordered anchovies pickled in vinegar, aged manchego, tostas with onion jam, tomato and goat’s cheese, and jamón ibérico - we definitely tried to order more but the owner told us our eyes were bigger than our stomachs which turned out to be 100% correct lmao. Literally still thinking about this meal and the owner’s good humour, 10/10

Cheap. Quaint. Classic and well worth every euro. Lovely atmosphere and attentive servers. Tapas doesn’t get much better than this 🙌🏼

What a wonderful place! Ivan was a fantastic host. The food was really good. The location itself is a beautiful hommage to “what it was like”. It’s kind of rustic and special. We would come back to enjoy the spirit and hospitality. :-)

Insanely fast and friendly team, super delicious food and drinks. Absolutely loved it. Best place in Madrid for simple but yet delicious and traditional food and amazing atmosphere!

One of my favorite Tapas bars in Madrid.
Highly recommend their menu item (also called) "Matador" but other items in the menu, like meat balls were tasty too. Not too many choices of wines but good enough. Customer service was absolutely good. Friendly and nice crew.

By far the best tapas spot we tried across Spain. Great selection and variety of tapas - meats, cheeses, empanadas, and sangria done well. It's a small space and the table placement is a little odd, but the staff are incredibly friendly and kind. Prices are also very reasonable considering this is very tourist-core.

Absolutely delicious, authentic Spanish tapas. The vibe is amazing and the staff is very kind. The food is very fresh and tasty. It can get quite busy when Spaniards have dinner (around 9PM), but we had no problem finding a table at 7:30 PM.

Madrid tapas bar for real real. Great staff and everything else u need. Sit, stand, hang out front - it's all good.

Service was great, food was good and the atmosphere was the best part there was a good mix of tourists and locals.

Love, love, love this place! It was so good me & my friend came back for a 2nd night in a row. The cheese & meat boards are so tasty. But the staff & atmosphere are what makes it best :)

I ate the first and best tapas in my life here! The place’s atmosphere is absolutely joyful and one of a kind. I loved how happy everyone was here! The staff is really kind and positive, always smiling! The food was so delicious it was unbelievable!

An absolute faultless gem. Tapas so genuine, your eyes water with appreciation and gratitude. Service to match - a calm and charming young man who showed reverence when serving his partner’s tapas ….and my choice of beer. A very small place so if going there do the right thing - sit, drink, eat, pay & tip, and leave promptly so others can enjoy. This special gem (and staff/owner) - although small - deserves the respect of many and to build a reputation to match. One of the highlights of our 6 week European tour. I’m just sorry we couldn’t stay in Madrid longer. Grazie mille!

Absolutely loved this place.

It feels really authentic, the menu is in English and the prices are so reasonable.

The service is fantastic, friendly and quick.

The food was fantastic, very basic items that just taste great. Limited drinks menu so we got the Sangria and it was all just so good.

Order a few items, then more, tables are small so take things slow and order as you want.

Not overly business so could get a seat right away, highly recommended.

Great place to grab a glass of wine and tapas. The location is perfect, very central yet it wasn’t too touristy.
